Honestly bummed at this response. I registered for HIHX 2020. It was canceled. I was told I’d be in for 2021. It was canceled. And now this news comes.
And it makes perfect sense.
Billions of lives disrupted from a pretty stupid response to a virus but that’s beside the point. Businesses shut for good. Livelihoods lost. Trillions printed. Inflation out of control. We’re in a different world than we were 2 years ago.
I honestly couldn’t imagine having this kind of whiny reaction to having to reregister again and maybe not get a spot. This years event is on my calendar. Just like last years. Hope I get in. But if not, I’ll understand and move on. But man, get some perspective and chill out.
Of which none of us could/can really control. I refuse to let a bunch of global tyrants dictate my daily life, as much as possible anyway. Hopefully people can recover but it's certainly an uphill battle. I don't think it is whiny at all, it is an event many look forward to, and I can understand why someone would be disappointed.
But I'm also in the same boat, ironically enough this decision could save me a lot of money as I was waiting for event confirmation to buy a new camper. Should I now not get in my plans would change. No harm no foul. It definitely eases any "guilt" I'd have by missing out voluntarily. Hope everyone that gets to go has a good time.
