Gentlemen,

No, first of all I'm not throwing the age old " can you convert a barn door to tailgate "

My 80 is undergoing some paint work, my rear doors are not in a condition worth saving, finding a quality set of barn doors for an 80 in Aus this time of year is proving to be difficult.

I have noticed many similarities ( and some differences ) in the 100/105 barn door, not to mention the look a heap better with the recessed glass.

THE QUESTION: has anyone, ever measured up or attempted to fit 105 barn doors to a barn door 80 series ?

Otherwise, WTB: good condition barn Doors 80 series.

( I'm new here, this forum seems to lack areas for bodywork / mechanical, if I'm in the wrong spot please advise )

I don't know for sure, but I feel pretty confident saying rear doors from a 105 aren't going to just bolt on like you'd want. I think you'd be better off continuing the hunt for some good 80 series barn doors. On that front, yeah, the barn door models seem less common in Sydney. Plenty of options in Adelaide or Perth I'd wager, but freight would be a killer. I'd suggest checking out these guys if you haven't already:
Just because they have a model shown here with barn doors doesn't mean they have any left, or any pieces of that car at all really, but they'd be my first call. They're up at Wyong, so driveable from Sydney, and probably worth it for something like this.

The 105 body is completly different in shape to the 80 series.

Not a chance they will just bolt in

Piece of cake.

Sent them an email, number seems to be not connected.

Tried a few wreckers but not much luck, I just noticed this spot before I sent it in for paint unfortunately.

Bummer if coast4x4wreckers are gone.
Wyong was more or less my home turf.

Used those guys a lot over the years. Prices were usually pretty decent, better for cash, and easy to deal with if there was any issue

Could also try these guys.

A little further away in Newy area, but they specialise in cruiser stuff, and carry a lot of new OEM parts

Nah, they're still around. Their facebook page from a day ago says they're closed until the 4th. What number did you try @Thepolarbear?

Thanks @Muddudgeon,

I use all four a lot they are great blokes and usually cheaper than 'trade' at the dealerships
