I want to buy some of these. Anyone know where to get them or have any they want to sell?

Thanks,

:D

They probably won't work with mesquite or prickly pear.;)

Why? What purpose do they serve? I'm sure you'll find someone who will be more than happy to take money in exchange for unloading those things. They may even throw in a set of fender flares to sweeten the deal!

In all seriousness, you probably won't find many people on this forum who have positive things to say about tail light bling.

Maybe guard against out of control shopping carts?

I dont see what the problem with it is, its no more "bling" than that stupid hoop on the sahara bar.

To each his own.

Do a search for Manik Taillight Guards.

I have those collecting dust in my garage. More than welcome to have them if you pay for shipping (I'm in GA).

I think one of the issues is that if you happen to bump into something with your tail light (and I have), the tail light is designed to break but save the bodywork. With the tail light guards, you are directing all of the impact force to the body work, thus increasing the damage zone. It is more expensive to repair the rear quarter panel than to pop a new tail light into place. Think of it as a rear damage multiplier.

At the end of the day it is your truck and you really should pay us no mind as long as you are pleased with the results.

I've heard more stories about those things snagging brush and cracking housings than stories of them actually protecting. Just throwing that out there...

I have the old ones off my '99 that I would let go of for cheap (or a beer or two). I'm actually in the process of moving from Houston to Dallas and can bring them up in a few weeks. PM if interested.

While I subscribe to the damage multiplier theory, I did get a tailight on my 80 busted, in a parking lot, by a grocery cart...and these would have saved it!

or it would have torn the body :meh:

In 2010 when i was first starting to tinker with my truck, i posted about these as well...and got roundly booed!

Now i'm glad i never got them. But they do LOOK pretty good on a few trucks i see around town. Knock yourself out man!

The tail light guards are designed for land cruisers, so the tailgate lights will be slightly different size on your LX. The guard will be oversize and look kind of out of place but not too bad. Just thought I'd let you know.

These are good for hanging your skivies to dry after an afternoon of swiming or other wet skivies type activites.

You can also weave pine needles around them to be holidayish during christmas.

They also serve as a good ladder for the neighborhood gnomes trying to get to your rooftop.

YUCK!!!! These will destroy your truck if you use it off-road. On a recent trip I went through a mud bog and rubbed the side of my truck and tail light. Due to it being a smooth surface My truck survived. If I had those I would have torn my tail light off as well as damaged the body. This is what is called a damage multiplier and really has no place on even a daily driver.

Not me but he did the same thing and didn't fare so well. The 60s tail light sticks out.

Nah...grociery cart was being propelled by a light breeze. Light tap, corner of the cart to the middle of the lense...punched a perfect hole.

Moral of the story? You need 35s and both a suspension and body lift!
