Get her a new Lexus GX470, about the size of an 80. Only costs around $42K :)

I got a 99 LC last spring with 44k and a new five-year 50K warranty for a little under $30. (No locker :'( but it's going to be 95%+ onroad anyway).
My wife likes it so much I may lose it to her. I recommend it highly.

The GX is a 4-skinner with the softer springs and better leather of a Lexus treatment. Very nice and a great ride, but it'll depreciate $6-8k or more the minute you drive it off the dealer's lot.

Pre-owned LX or TLC seems to me the way to go.

Why change ???

Buy her another 80, maybe 97 with 60-80K Miles and she will be very happy. She is already used to the 80, so why place her in a new boat?

100s are the coolest mommy-mobiles around. Tell her to go for the 100.

Hey Rogue,

why is it that you and some other guys here are using the wife's photo as an avatar ???

Not bad, not bad !!!

Not to offend anyone, I think Toyota stopped making a true 4wheeler after the 80 series, IMO. :-\

How many times have we heard that in the past 20 years? I concur that IFS and rack & pinion steering make for a less stout rig, but I'm sure it does well enough offroad.
