Daytime running lights are fine as a concept, but at night even before I turn on my low beams once I switch the ignition the daytime running lights come on automatically. I'd like to put a manual switch on them so that they only come on when the switch is on.

What would be the best way to go about doing this?

Do you have any friends in the millitary? IIRC the military requires that private vehicles have DRL shut off or dis-abled if the vehicles are operated on base. They may have a suggestion about the procedure.

Electrical manual .... best place to interupt circuit with inline switch = ? ...

Mine was far easier . It's a '97 . Had the DRL's done at the dealership ... then a year later I found the relays one day and with a little testing decided which one needed disconnecting . Now they do not come on .. only when I switch on the lights ; which I far prefer .
