I had a 79 ford identical to that one. I wish the new ones where built that way. They sure dent a lot easier now.

Ain't that the truth, nice to have a beater that can handle a 40 pound log tossed from a distance without being worried about caving in the fenders.;)

And tailgates, that stay straight after being abused..And sacrificial paint jobs..

We took down the smaller sister tree to the one in the background (typical to size to what we cut)..

Suprised you cant get ahold of some juniper in your area, wish it grew near us..

What do you want Juniper for? I can get you as much as you'd like.

We cut 3 cords in Plano,Texas this last weekend.A live oak,a red oak and one pecan. That live oak was hard to get cut. It all smelled great, cant wait to burn it! Mike

That pecan must have been green, never cut it myself, but have heard horror stories about getting through the seasoned stuff.

Re: Juniper, hot, and it smells good..:)

Nice splitter, Got any specs?

Also on the Mahogany, we've got one called Mountain Mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus), but it is usually just a large shrub here. Wow, if it's the same, you've got something that would make a woodworker jelous. The heartwood is tough as nails and makes beautiful furniture.

Log splitter is a SpeeCo 22 ton. It splits anything I have put in it.
I had to google the Mahogany species (Cercocarpus Ledifolious) curleaf mahogany. Everyone around here calls it mountain mahogany. We only find it in the higher elevations. It is never very big around and is always twisted. You dont want to fill your stove with it. It burns so hot it can turn your stove red.

Here's my woodshed.......it's close to 9.5' on the L and about 7 ' on the right, width is approx 8'. There's 7 rows like that in there. 99% douglas fir and larch. :D

I had a miserable week with some great moments. Dinner with PismoJm and a brief visit to SnT. (I went to SnT to drop some parts off for some club members and other mudders who were broke down and then had to head back home.)

I needed to go to my "Happy Place".

Pics of Large Oak wood cutting adventure.

It is not even my firewood.

Want to plan SnT for next year? I'm thinking I need something to do in Nov...

Impressive chip piles (funny how some of us get off on that, lol).
Wow, that looks like it would have made some nice dimensional lumber, does that stuff check as badly as our red oak?

Also looks like you wore your helper out.;)

Thanks, I have splitter envy. I want a 28T. Right now I have a 'freetome' splitter that does the job, but is very poorly balanced and low to the ground, but it does the job.

Here's the ultimate splitter......

YouTube - wood splitter

Awsome! Is that a std Bobcat attachment?

Ok, dumb question..
