Has anyone had issues with the wood window switch trim not sitting flush in their LX?

The trim piece on my passenger side window will not sit flush for whatever reason. I pulled the whole panel off and tried re-seating it but it didn’t change much. Someone mentioned on another thread that the small black tab may not be seated properly on the metal retainer ring but I’m not sure that’s it. Any input is appreciated.

Two main tabs, one at each end. The metal one in back can deform and cause this issue, sometimes. If you break the tab while reshaping it, it can be bought separately from Mr. T.
