Great questions. He cut the old cat out and then welded the magnaflows (two connected together) into the gap. It took him less than 45 mins in and out. I have 231k miles on my LC. I feel like a may have a little more power as well. However, my mileage has increased substantially. Good luck.
Which magnaflow exact pieces you got?
I wonder if you were able to pass smog check after that? I am in California which has more restrictions. Thanks

If you have a welder, you just need a cat that fits. It will pass smog if you buy a regular cat, and not a “race” cat. I’m not in Cali but did this for a merc in Md where we have smog. I’m personally not sure if there is a greater part that is a direct swap. Any exhaust shop or small shop with a welder can help
