When I purchased my 60, it the temperature took a long time to get warm (as shown on the gauge), and when it did get warm it never really made it above the "low" side on the gauge.....in addition to that the heater wasn't really working.
A couple weeks ago, I decided to replace the...
Hello,
I have a 9/79 with a stock 2F.
My thermostat housing has a sensor in it for the oem dash (which I’m not running).
I was looking to swap in an 81+ upper and lower thermostat hosing because it’s simpler and it looks like the bypass hose will offer better clearance for my Vintage Air...
I’m replacing the thermostat in 1992 FJ80 and need a part number (or description) for one of the sensors circled. It goes to the upper thermostat housing unit.
Hi folks,
When we were doing our thermostat sensor broke off. I did some poking around and my best guess is it is the cold start injector. Does that look right?

My original lower thermostat housing with the 2 BVSV bungs cracked at the flange when torqued to the factory torque spec, so I bought a new one without the sensor bungs. I've got all my vacuum lines hooked up after my desmog now except for the one running to the BVSV from evap VSV.
What's...
Forgive me because Im asking for a friend and only have limited info, and dont have the vehicle here to inspect...
-Radiator was leaking so he took it to a Japanese specialist and they replaced the radiator, hoses, thermostat and cap
(Note: He has spent a large amount of money with them...
All three AC control switches on my 2000 Landcruiser suddenly stopped working. I have searched the forum and could not find anything that matched my issue. Dug the LC out of the snow yesterday and started it up to discover the thermostat is stuck on defrost - low, I am thankful because I still...
Hello all,
I think I might be overthinking this, but after replacing almost all of the coolant and heater hoses (still need to do the ones under the intake) on my 1996 LX450 I started the refill process and I'm stuck... I refilled the radiator with about 1.25 gallons of distilled water and...
Winter finally came upon us this weekend…pounded with snow. I couldn’t have been more excited to FINALLY! Yes FINALLY test and use the 4WD 😍
Hubs; check…oddly modern but sorta prehistoric H4 button engaged; check

In March of 2021, my OEM radiator took a dump. I ended up installing a new KOYO radiator, and OEM lower & upper radiator hoses/clamps, along with a new OEM thermostat in my 2004 LX470 that currently has around 236,200 miles on the ODO.
I have only put around 17,000 miles on the new radiator and...
Hey guys,
So I live in Florida and my temperature gauge always warms up in what I believe to be a normal range. I’m traveling up in the northern states atm where the temperatures are around 32f (0c) to 40f (4c). And my temperature gauge will barely rise driving around town unless I hop on the...
Ok, my radiator was starting to weep, so I ordered a new Toyota radiator, and was topping off coolant. My wife was just using for dropping kids off at school, but she went a bit further and LC overheated. I had her shut it off when she called.
Replaced radiator, thermostat, hoses, and water...
Hi, I've had an 1985 FJ60 for a while now. I'm trying to keep to old girl running reliably. When I first got her I changed the fluids, hoses, belts, water-pump just because they were "unknowns" and easy to do. So I take full responsibility for any and all screwups :) I suspect that my thermostat...
First sample received today. Will test fit for compliance. Very happy with it. I've had these made out of a better Alloy than the original. Will last longer. More tolerant of additives etc.
So onto my first timing belt job on the 2uzfe and ofcourse getting to the water housing it cracked. It was so stuck I had to cut out the remaining piece trying to keep aluminum shavings at a minimum.
Now on the hunt for a used replacement I found one that looks like a direct bolt on, but...
I have a 1984 FJ60 with 1HDT Diesel Engine and H55 transmission. When I first acquired the rig, it seemed to run hot; on a long hill it would go from 175 F to 215F. I replaced the thermostat with a new one (175F) and put in a new high capacity (375 HP capable) radiator and a 4000 CFM dual...
Lower housing has the double boss for the BVSVs used from 1978-1980. Upper housing is the earlier flat top (vs the 79-80 angle-top. Pretty good shape overall, with three pits in the neck of the upper housing about 1/8" across.
