I was majorly annoyed and frustrated when I discovered that my Ball joint on my steering arm has been coming in contact with my MT Classics rims.
What the heck???
It appears it’s only tearing the boot of the ball joint, there is no metal to metal contact between the ball joint and the rim...
Wanted to buy 80 series RHD double sided (left side) steering arm from JDM or Australian parts rig. I just think it would be nice to have some extra strength.
I don't really want to buy one from cruiser parts or pay $177. Does anyone have one they would sell for $100?
So while things are open for my brake system refresh, might as well do the Knuckles for this 20-year old car.
Then I can close it up and call it done for my Front End Baselining (already did the CV Axles one year ago).
The steering knuckle arm on my RJ73 is very close to the rim and that makes rim choices really limited. As you can see in the picture below, there's only a half inch gap between the arm and the edge of the rim. And that is because I've put some old 16' rims from my BJ42 and they are quite narrow...
