Fellow cruiser heads,
I need advice on a little problem I have ran into whilst installing a OME/Dakar 2” kit. I got the front all bolted on and it was a breeze, just time consuming.
On the back I hit a snag with a shackle bolt getting stuck and need some advice for people that have overcome...

I need to have my mechanic help to "reverse" an existing shackle reversal. I know it will require 4 perches but I don't have a good idea of how to show the steps required or welding spots. I have to get this step done to install a new OME suspension.
Does anyone have detailed videos or pics...
Any professional welders out there (New York Tri-State area) who could help me reverse a shackle reversal on my 78. Will do a new suspension at the same time. Thanks vm.

I put OME 2.5" lift springs on my Fj40. I also put on new SOR greaseable shackles. After a year of driving around, the shackles are still nearly vertical, front and back. Is there a solution for this? I run a hard top from September to May, then...
How can you tell when greasable Shackle pins need replacing? My pins show signs of of heat scorching but otherwise seem fine. Do they need to be replaced?
Hey guys arfter some opinions on my shackle angle and the pin location. Ive just installed ironman +2 springs and standard length a.i shackles in and the pins are touching the hanger mount with the truck off the ground. Then sitting there is around 15mm on driver side between pin and hanger...
I saw a mention of “*minor customization for drift shaft” …. What exactly does that mean? and I’m sure there’s an option with no drive shaft customization out there.

Hey all. My ‘84 FJ60 makes a clunking noise when the wheel is turned to either side. Happens while stopped and while moving. Also occurs regardless of 2WD vs 4WD. It seems this is a fairly common issue. I’d love some guidance in how I should go about chasing this noise. For starters, this truck...
Yes I know, many threads exist but most all I find are in regard to inches of spring settle, and not how that relates to the shackle angle. A loaded question I realize but just wondering if anyone had kept track of this during and after their build. Obviously it would vary with different...
Not sure if this is really hardcore or not but here it is.
I'm SOA with Alcan FJ60 length springs, flipped for WB, which have the free arch relaxed, in the rear of my 40. I was told the Alcans would use ⅝" bolts. They just seem to fit fairly loose, I expected a much tighter fit. I used...
I purchased some greaseable HFS shackles from CCOT. In their description they state they fit my year.
They bolted on fine, however there is a small gap between the shackle and the bushing. In their description it advises not to over tighten to fit. I am wondering if this is what they are...
