All,
I have spent the last 90 mins searching to understand the heater hose plumbing for adding a heater to my 77 fj40 with a 2f. The lower heater hose routing seems straightforward(for the return, right?), but I can’t find a consistent answer on how to feed the heater with warm coolant from...
I picked up my truck this afternoon after having the dealership do the timing belt, water pump, and pulley. When I opened the hood, I noticed the radiator hose was almost "vacuumed" together. I was able to squeeze it, and it was mostly empty. I started the truck later, and it's the same shape. I...
Is there something supposed to be connected at the end of that tube? I did the PHH a while back but I cant remember. I’m not losing coolant or anything. Thank you
Greetings! I’m in the process of replacing thermostat, water pump, coolant hoses, etc. The previous owner removed the heater and from reading on this forum I’m pretty sure he just rerouted the heater hose from A to B in the picture. My question is, can I just place a cap at A and B and remove...
I noticed by accident some coolant deposits on one of the tee's so I ordered the metal ones when doing the timing belt. One of them totally disintegrated when removing it. I suppose I should do more routine inspections.
This will let you take showers using the heat from your engine to heat the water. Mount the heat exchanger under the hood, plumb it into the heater hose, and your set. Draw fresh water from a stream / lake / bucket.
Includes everything shown. I did try the water pump and while it sounded like...
Among the myriad of Toyotas in my stable is a mostly stock 1990 4Runner with the 3vz-e engine and front and rear heat. The original heater hoses have finally deteriorated after 3 decades and are now leaking. In the below photo I’ve circled in red all of the locations where coolant is seeping...

Hello Mud,
I've been lurking for awhile, you guys are such a great resource for a newbie amateur-hour mechanic!
This question pertains to a 1995 FZJ80 with a heater hose leak.
I think I've got this assembly kit identified (87209), except for an elbow hose that is connected from the bottom of...
Hey Mud,
I've searched here and around the googleverse, but I'm having trouble deciding what the best option is. I'm in the process of rebuilding my front & rear heaters which has evolved into re-doing the full hose lines, replacing stuck water control valve, painting and powder coating the...
I initially just replaced the small (pesky) piece of hose on the block, but it leaked. It is a real pain trying to get the new little hose on the block and pipe, and secure the hose clamps, in such a tight space. The second time around, I decided to go with the bypass, and it was way easier...
I'm trying to track down all the hoses and any relevant clamps, here's what I have so far:
1) 87245 60480 Hose, Heater Water, Inlet B; Hose, Heater Water, Outlet C
2) Gates Green Stripe/Napa Gold Stripe or equivalent 5/8" (hose clamp 87124-28030 X2)
3) Gates Green Stripe/Napa Gold Stripe or...
Hey guys quick question. I removed the rear heater lines because there was a leak. I though i could easily find some tubing to replace them, but no. I've been reading about a rear heater by pass, nut since the lines are already out can i just put a "U" in the spot shown in this picture? Thanks...
Getting ready to flush the radiator and start replacing the hoses. I have seen pics of the hose group above the engine along the fire wall and noticed mine is quite a bit different
That hose, the FHH line; is much longer than anything that I have seen. It drapes directly down onto the...
