Note: I know now the prices below are crazy - I'm taking it to another mechanic for a second opinion.
I just got off the phone with my mechanic who is suggesting that my GX is totaled.
Last weekend my motor died and I spent six hours on the side of the freeway waiting for a tow due to a bad...
My engine light is on and my mechanic said it's because of the cats. The truck has about 400,000km on it with a motor replacement which has 270,000km
2007 Tundra 5.7 ( motor is a 2010 )
My mechanic says they can be cut out completely and my milage should be better.
Does anyone have any...
Thought I would reach out to my mud family! My favorite 16 pound cat( Quint) came in last night with a broken leg🙁 They had to amputate due to the damage.. just want to know some good results of 3 leg cats living a good normal life!! He is doing well, considering what he has been through!
Adopt a couple of tabbies that have free roam “cat door” access from home/garage/driveway.
Rodents detect the cats’ scent/territory markings—and go elsewhere to feast on your neighbors’ tasty wiring instead.
Plus cats are very cool family members.
Contact me with your needs. Cats will include the VIN number of the car it was parted out from. Down pipes are solid and exhaust manifolds intact. The parts are from a California Car so they meet the 50 state specs.
O2 Sensor bypass question…
So, to put rock sliders on my 96 LX450 (35s/529 gears) I had to cut out the cats and replace it w a straight pipe. The rear part of the pipe w the downstream O2 sensor was also cut out. So, there is no rear sensor just an empty plug. Obviously the check engine light is...
Hey all. Does anyone have some insight. If I get 2 brand new cats (front and rear) sent to my friend in Nevada, will there be enough difference in emissions to fail smog even though the cats are brand new just technically not CA compliant?
Hi all, my sister in law has a 2003 Toyota Sequoia and one of her cats was stolen last night. There's an o2 sensor in it. She's hesitant to install a new one due to the chance it could happen again. Has anyone here just welded a straight pipe on, and left the engine light on - has it actually...
My 80 has been in storage for a while. I plan to restart it soon. I will take the plugs out and fog/oil the cylinders to avoid running the engine dry at first. Not sure it's necessary but I'm willing to go the extra distance just for peace of mind. My question is: if I do use oil fogging...
My 2003 lc runs amazing at 164000. But my engine light came on and i thought the exhaust just got a bad whiff, i thought i was right when i started it and the light was not on anymore. It came back on and off for about 2 weeks. i regret waiting so long but going to school full time and working...

Does anyone know the truck has two or four Cats? I'm planning to get Maglaflow to replace a possible defective one, but its CA. approved version requires cutting and welding.
Any other suggestions?
Hate to waste these if someone has a project or need for a repair etc...... they've got 61k saltfree mall crawling miles - and I cna bring them back with me to TX or maybe deliver along the way - or they can be picked up at Kooks in NC.......
Cheers

Has anyone replaced their OEM cats with the cheaper, universal cats on an 80 series Land Cruiser? I have a leaky cat and I'd rather not spend a truck load of money on expensive OEM parts. If I can get away with spending $50 a cat, great. If not, I'll bite the bullet.
Does anyone know if it...
