Im planning to pull my 3rd member soon, ('04 LX, 280k miles) and I know the easy was is to pull the axles out about 6-8", so they are completely pulled out of the diff...
I have a front fj60 axle and I was told the front and rear 3rd members are the same. I also want to know if this third member is only low pinion or if it can be flipped around and used as a high pinion with a new set of reverse cut ring/pinion?
Pulled the 3rd out of my rear axle so I could modify the housing to accept a locked 3rd.
Was in working order when pulled. 270,000 miles on it. The clutch discs definitely don’t work anymore ()
