So I don't know if this has ever been done before, but I've managed to get a Warn 8274 winch in my Slee bumper on my 80. I'm sure there are some 80's with an 8274 (aren't there?) but I've never seen it since it probably requires cutting items for it to fit. And lately, I've not been afraid to cut items on my wagon (it's getting scary).
First pic shows final fitment. I still have to touch up some things and route cable correctly and install the passenger side fog light tab in a new place but this is ultimately the final result. The light tab had to go since it was prohibiting spooling. Also the bumper needed slight trimming for the winch to mount flush to the bumper.
The second pic shows where I cut to make this fit. Never once did I cringed when I cut so I knew this was meant to be. In the pic, the center support looks like it didn't need to be cut but it is actually less than an inch from the winch so it fits perfect. I'm also very pleased with the grill and how easy it was to fit back on. Notice where I left plenty of room to pull the clutch knob.
I got this winch from a friend for a "friend" price so it was a no brainer. Plus all I hear is that "the 8274 is the best winch Warn ever made", plus when it used to be on his cruiser, it got me out of trouble on more than one occasion. Well now I can return the favor
