Perhaps one of the Trail Team members if they see this can answer this.

How are the Hi-Lift jacks being mounted to the roof rack?
I have Slee mounts for my Yakima Load Warrior, but I am thinking of going with the factory rack after my FJ arrives, but need to know how you have the jack mounted up there.

Thanks,

I have been looking for the same thing, Can't find anything that looks like it will fit the stock rack and my 60" lift do's not fit inside all that well once I start loading... one of my buddies has offered to fabricate some brackets but I will have to wait untill he has some time....

will the hi-lift loc rac mount work ?

Corey,
I bet Yakima will have a FJC specific mighty mount you can use w/ the Slee mounts.

They have Xterra specific and other unusual rack models too.

I have already used the Yakima Universal Mighty Mount to mount a bike rack and a snowboard rack to the FJC factory rack (very noisy by the way...I ended up taking the bike rack off and using a hitch mount rack instead). I am not sure, but I think Yakima makes a jack mount as well....I think I saw it in REI, but I could not find it on the Yakima website. I will check.

Currently I am struggling with....use the factory rack or put on the Yakima rack collecting dust in my garage. I am only afraid that the lowrider mount used to put the Yakima bars on the FJC rack will increase the already high roofline....especially after the 3" OME lift.

The FJ Trail Teams Hi Lifts are attached with the Hi Lift mounting system. The tall bracket is attached to the lower rearward cross bar and the front of the mounting system is attached to the upper forward cross bar. I hope this makes sense. I tried to upload a picture but it didn't work I will try to post the picture later.

Tim

actually they have them mounted with the rear on a high lift mount and the front is mounted on a bolt that they drilled through the upper cross load bar.

Correct you are

I had allphaseoffroad.com my local shop mod the Yakima Hi-Lift jack mount to fit the FJ factor rack. I will post more pics of just the mount if you need me to. This is all I have currenty.
You could also mod the Hi-Lift loc rac to work. Thats whats on the blue SEMA FJ.

Personally im waiting on some decent bumpers so I can actually use a hi-lift jack.:censor: plastic !!!

If Yakima comes out with mounts that fit in the stock holes on the FJ so cross bars can be attached, I may end up putting back on my Load Warrior.

It is already setup with the Slee Hi-Lift mounts, Yakima axe mount, a home made shovel mount, and a home made jerry can setup.

Yakima is aware of the FJ, and should be making stuff later to fit the stock holes up there.

I also thought about the Quick Fist Clamp. But I already own the Yakima mount so I just modified it. One of the things I like about it is that the Hi-Lift bolts to it so I don't need to use a lock.
Here is a pic of my Yakima mount modified to fit the stock FJC rack.

TiSilver,
I'm not familiar with the Yakima mount, how exactly did you modify that one from stock?
