pretty soon the only thing v8 trucks are going to be good for is a push down a long hill and into a deep lake. How much fuel you pushing into your 13-bt, I get 1000kms to my 90 litre tank, I don't care to figure what that is but its good enough for me! Seems like I fill up alot less then my old 2.9 V6 ford. I wouldn't drive a domestic truck if I won it, unless I couldn't sell it!

Does not surprise me that 13bt gets better milage than a FORD...

Today I am taking my BJ74 off the road and puting my 78 chev on the road for salmon stealhead fishing trip, as I can sleep in te back of a chev truck.

Its great fishing at the Stamp River Port Alberni... Yay!

sad but true the old F was based on the chevy six...
of course Toyota had to tear it all down and make it better...
;^)

Remember how the Japanese industry started, by copying and making it cheaper, then making it better

I had a customer with a super terd diesel Ford Escort wagon that got a dismal 50 miles to the US gallon. My sister has a Prius that she gets 48 US miles to the gallon. Just because its a Ford Dosn't mean it can't get good milege.

the only differance on the old , old cruiser was that they sleeved the cylenders to give it less power , THEN they made it alot beter.

are you talking the gasser or the diesel? curious, i have yet to see any factory sleeved gasser F or 2F although i might be missing something...
and curious as well, why would sleeving an engine give it less power?

I have never seen a sleeved toyota "land cruiser" gas engine that includes F, 2F 3fe, and 1FZ. I really do not think they ever sleeved those.

OK, so at $328.00 from Toyota, I figured I would first ask around if anyone has a P/S idler pulley kicking about that they can part with? If not, I'll see if I can wittle one out of scrap titanium or something.

Found a new pulley.
John Deere dealer... Part no. AM115682. Center bushing must be drilled out from 10mm to 12mm. Voila, a brand new power steering idler pulley. CAD$12.69.

Hopefully, this new one is good for a full 600,000 kms.

You can sleep in the back of a 60 series or other TLC wagon too... ask me how I know.

5'11" tall here-- and I've never tried to sleep in an 80 I confess, but yes the 60 is nice and roomy. Actually, a full size futon will fit in the back ;)

OK somebody slap me for turning this into CHAT!

BTW Behemoth awesome job on the pully--thanks for doing the leg work for all of us 3Bers. Now I just have a few hundred thousand miles to go before I have to replace my pulley...
