Help! (1 Viewer)

Driving down the road today and the truck won't accelerate! You floor the gas engine doesn't move? 2003 landcruiser V8. We stopped, pulled a 360 and left it turned off for about 1 min. Started it back up and it worked fine for another hour and a half and is still working fine now. KBR worked on it and had it a month. They said they replaced the "computer" in it?? Any ideas?

Do a search on TPS (throttle position sensor), I think it's been discussed.

Agree on the TPS

OK, took the Blue truck back out today. All was well it ran like a screamin donkey then POOF! no throttle. I called the mechanics, they said unhook the battery for 5 min and let it reset. 5 Minutes on the side of the Highway in Iraq sucks! Hooked it back up and it ran great for 15 minutes then POOF! gone again. We towed it about 35km and through the city got it to the mechanics on our base and it started working again! I told the mechanic about the TPS. He advised it has a new computer and TPS. Well I guess I will now lose my favorite Cruiser for a few weeks!

Any other ideas of what it could be?

Maybe the accelaration position sensor, a closely related item.
