Is it possible to use a 60 Radiator in a 40? (1 Viewer)

Is it possible to use a 60 Radiator in a 40? I have a busted 40 radiator but have access to a good 60 radiator. I know the 60 is wider and shorter with a different side mounting bracket.

Would the 60 rad. give any advantages if I found a way to make it to fit or am I better off looking for a stock 40 rad. I am runnind a SBC.

Anyone have better luck with any other radiators that are not Toyota?

i got a 4 core oem size off ebay...$185 shipped and it's worked fine.

My bro runs one in his 40. Works fine. We had to make some new side brackets, but it is easy if you have a welder, angle iron and some flat strap metal.

I have a 40 in mine as well, the only part that sucks is I have to unbolt it to turn the crank...

but with a 350.. I'd go with what Butch runs.. He keeps rigs cool in texas with AC going.. Someting like a becool or whatever.. Search..

40 rads are the same size as 55 iirc, but the 60 rad is bigger.

Almost anything can be made to work, but as others have said, why?

If you can get a new one for 144.00us, that seems pretty strait-forward to me...








55 Radiators are different from 40 series.....

i stand corrected...55 are a bit larger...here are the three for comparison
