13BT Swap Alternator issues

Hey folks. I'm about an hour away from completing the critical parts of a 13BT swap but am hung up on the alternator. I got a 12 volt alternator from G&S so I could keep the rig 12V, but the main power plug on the alternator has three wires (red, white and blue) and the plug from the 2F harness has two (yellow/charge and black/ground). None of the manuals I have are helping. Anyone have any idea how I can get past this? I need to know what the three wires in the alternator plug side are. Thanks.
 
I don't have my manuals at home, but I can swing by the shop this afternoon and look at the diagrams.

They should tell me the orientation of the plugs.

connections on the alt are shown as B, IG , L

B on the BJ60 goes to the bus bar, powers all kinds of different things(fuses) it is a white wire. it is also the same as the FJ60. that wire is the same

IG on the BJ60 goes to the engine Labeled fuse, 15A, it is BY in colour. But on the FJ60 it is Y in colour.
Also on the FJ60 this Y wire goes to emmisions control. I think this is the wire that gives the Alt power. to control the field.

L on the BJ60 goes to the Charge fuse 5A. It is a YW colour wire. It is the charge light relay wire.
On the FJ60 this wire is W in colour. It also goes to the charge fuse 5A. Only exception is it shows a diode. this is a USA only mod. In the BJ60 it does not show this diode. Remove it. just trace back from the fuse holder.

ok this looks straight forward to hook up, I understand your wires may be different in colour, so you may have to ring them out to the fuses I mentioned. Also I don't know if it possible that you have the wrong harness connector.? I don't see in the manuals any types of alt that only have two wires.

As well I hope you can see the B, IG , L markings on the Alt.

I will leave my books out of if I can help more.

Also none of my books show the colours of the Alt wires. Just the B, IG, L
 
if your harness HAD before the a remote regulator there is more info I can give,as to which wires to cut off of its harness and route to the Alt. That is when it was a FJ60 before the 13b-t came along
 
Any pics of the setup?

Thanks so much for the info. In the end I got the info from Greg (I should have had the wiring diagrams for the BJ) and the Browndog is hooked up and running. I am a very, very happy man. I'll post more info soon. Thanks again.
