The recent threads on audio head unit install/wiring problems has happily led me to the solution of a long nagging problem of my own involving head unit illumination, and additionally to a design solution for muting the installed speakers for a communications application.

Both involve using existing wiring (plugs/harnesses) that are present in the LC, but undocumented in the LC EWD - as they are for LX options not offered in the LC.

Sometime long ago, one of our list members scanned and posted the two-page LX schematic for the mobile phone wiring (both of which I still have). Thanks again to whomever helped with that! Assuming the LX EWD is similar in format to the LC version, there would be two additional pages of information that would also be extremely helpful:

1. The page that illustrates the plug shapes/pinouts (especially plugs M2, M3, S17, T8, & T9); AND
2. The page of tables that identifies the “Codes” and locations for the various related components.

Both are most likely adjacent to the schematics themselves in the EWD.

Anyone with the capability who wouldn’t mind scanning/posting these two pages, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks! Ron

Ron:

I can get this for you and send it tonight - I don't remember if I have your email - so can you fire me a PM and I will send the info tonight. A bit self serving on my part as I would LOVE to do the same thing!

Per the other thread, we should do IRLP sometime soon - I just bought a new antenna for te truck last weekend and a lovely mount. I can finally use my 5w to reach some repeaters. Less of an issue at home as I am in the shadow of what has to be the tallest repeater in the world - the CN Tower (although I don't know if it has an IRLP node)!

Cheers, Hugh

Thanks Hugh ! You've got a PM (with IRLP particulars...)

PS: IRLP = Internet Radio Linking Project. It is a technology that allows Amateur Radio operaters to communicate worldwide on 2 meters (144+ mHz) & 70 cm (440+ mHz). R -
