My Fj60 - going to Holland???

I had a serious inquiry from a lady in Holland that wants my Fj60.

I hate to be suspicious but wondered if any of you guys had sold a Cruiser this way and how I should proceed to secure payment. It might be legit but I need some guidance.

careful, there are a lot of these foreign purchase scams....plus they have plenty of 60s in europe, why go to the US for one?? I'd turn her down and say you don't want to deal with the hassle...honestly, i don't think its worth pursuing.

Sounds suspicious to me. I don't know about Holland but there are plenty of diesel 60s in France, Germany, Spain and the UK - all of which would be much easier for her.

yeah, I second that. a buddy of mine was trying to sell a vintage Chrysler not long ago and he was getting these crazy phone calls from "buyers" in foreign countries who wanted him to pay a "shipping company" a shipping fee before they would send him the balance of the difference due if they bought the car. wacked!! and a total scam.....

I suppose, if she is legit, you could arrange for the complete funds to be wire transferred into your account, wait a few days to make sure they are secured, check with your bank to make sure she can't renig on the transfer, and then have her arrange her own shipping at her expense. Seems to me that if she is for real, then this would be an agreeable arrangement. Give her the contact info for some U.S. car shipping companies, let her handle the rest. If the cash is good and in your hands, then what the hell......still would advise caution however

I've arranged payment with a colleague of mine in the US and she is assuring me that she will have to draw out a cheque for your payment and shipment which you will have to be paid by cheque by my colleague in the US.
She will have to draw out the cheque of $14,500,which will take care of your payment and pick up of the vehicle from your residence which will be handled by my shipping company that will be handling shipment of the landcruiser and also my other goods there in the US.
This is the arrangement once you've recieved the cheque you cash it and deduct your money and send the remaining funds to my shipping agency that will be handling the shipment of the vehicle.Once they've recieved the funds you send to them they will contact their local shipper close to your location to come down and pick up the vehicle from your location and you will have to hand over all the necessary documents pertaining to the landcruiser to them with it's papers.

Unfugging believeable I try to sell my Cruiser and be honest about it and get bitch slapped from half way around the world.

If I'm reading it right, it looks like she's giving you the check first, then you pay the shipping company out of that - or am I reading it wrong?

I say SCAM the SCAMMER. Go to some warez site and find help and turn the tables.

Better yet consider it a valuable lesson which did not cost you your cruiser or any cash.

Even if you do call off the deal, if you have already exchanged name and address, phone numbers etc. then they will have most of the info they need to rip off your ID.

I'de love to turn the screws on these fawkers but I'm not sure how.

I just sent another e-mail telling her that I'de provide more pictures because I wanted her to be sure that this was the truck she wanted before spending all that cash on shipping
