dana 18, any one know??

There was a comment about an 18 not having a speedo hookup on them...
The one in my 48 2A Willys has one, as does many of the other 18 and 20 cases that I have built...
Got any pics of this 18 you have?

The Dana 18 is an old, but proven, design. It was used on Civilian Willys and Jeeps through the CJ5 models. As far as durability, the Dana 18 works well in low horsepower applications. I would not put one behind anything with a lot of torque, there are probably better choices. It has an offset drive shaft.

dana 18/20 are close to the same, 18 parts fit in the stronger 20 case, I would have to say the 18 IMO is a stronger transfercase then the LC cases. Which my choice would be to run a 18 rather then a LC case, then when you go center output slap in a 20 same adapter in most cases.

just remembered two things
there was a guy mud draggin a cruiser that used that setup.
and a guy in TN that had everthing from a 383 to a built 468 chevy running that same setup, only changed to center diff and took it out, had no problems. I tried to purchase it from him.
