OK, so I did my dual battery install and realized that the perfect position to put my big marine switches was just left of the hood latch. Yep. Right where the factory horns were.

So, after I got done removing the horns and doing the install I started searching for the perfect horn for my truck. I gave deep thought to doing an air horn. In the end I came up with a fully sealed powder coated stainless steel Ongaro marine horn. It isn't small, isn't gigantic, and it has a good loud not too grating sound.

I searched around a bit and decided to mount it to the ARB. The + wiring is plugged right into one of the factory horn connectors. The - wiring goes up to a handy bolt on the radiator mount.

The horn is fully submersible and protected above the frame rail, so I'm not to worried about it down there.

Enjoy!

So does it sound like a boat now?

I had kind of hoped for a bit of a boatish sound. It actually sounds pretty much like a delivery truck horn.

Now to figure out how to record it... lol... That will take twice as long as the install did.

Oh, and I drilled the holes and painted them with Rustoleum one night then installed the horn the next.

While I was at it I bolted a www.cruisercrap.com stainless bottle opener to the flat metal on the inside of my Slee tire carrier.

Fun stuff.

I have the cruisercrap bottle opener as a handle on my outback drawer.... the wife never even seemed to notice :D
