I have a Knock that has just started last night. It is coming from the transmission, seems to be located right at the small pan. I checked the gear oil, aok. It knocks when the clutch is not engaged. As soon as you depress clutch, noise goes away. If you are at about 50MPH, noise also dissapears....only in 4th gear. So knock is present at standstill, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd unless clutch is depressed. Clutch works okay and seems to shift normally, 4wd works fine too but noise is present when in 4wd as well....anyone experience this ever, or know what it could be? I am no master mechanic by any means, so please help. Engine runs and idles normally, no problems with power or anything, same get-up-and-go as always, just this irritating knock. It is obviously a problem, so want to address it asap, its my wifes daily driver.
