Hey everyone,

Has anyone put FJ80/Lx450 wheels of the there FJ? Pics? Fitment?
I was wondering if I need spacers or will it clear the calipers without spacers? BMT gave me some insight but said that there was some buffing on the wheel preciously before install.

Tried it, the fronts contacted the calipers. Wasn't a huge interference, possibly would clear with 1/4" spacers?

So did you use spacers? if so did you use lug centric or hub centric? I'm a little weary of the "polishing" technique. I don't trust my abilities that much:doh:

Nope, my wheels and tires, a buddies FJC, he wanted to test drive the tires, when the rub was discovered the test was aborted. I run standard wheel spacers on my LX450 with Tundra wheels and have zero issues. Not sure what the "polishing" technique is, but I would not grind in the wheels or calipers.

I can attest to this as I recently purchased four "80" wheels. They fit just fine, but then discovered they were not factory wheels, but knock offs. They looked identical from the outside, but the casting is different enough on the inside of the wheel that they fit my FJC without rubbing. I bought a 5th spare wheel from a local garage that was parting out an FZJ80 and threw it on the spare carrier. When I went to rotate the spare into the first set of 4, I discovered it would not clear the front calipers. I am going to "polish" my front calipers to allow the OEM wheel to fit up front. Spacers (1/4") would do the trick also, but the non-factory wheels I've got are not hubcentric (use acorn lugnuts), so I want all the lug threads I can get to keep these puppies on. There is one section of the caliper that is raised slightly as well as the inside corner and both can be rounded or ground down to clear the wheels. I think a flapdisc on an angle grinder would do the trick. Really the clearance needed is less than 1/4".

I swear when I first got these wheels, I couldn't figure out why everybody said they wouldn't fit :) Now I know why. See factory/OEM wheel first, then "Japan Style" aftermarket wheel below.
