A good friend of mine (Wil) put together this nice fridge review and technical piece. Thought some of you would enjoy the read.

SELECTING AND MOUNTING A FRIDGE

I have an older Norcold that seems to work fine. However, when going over certain bumps on the road, the unit bangs loudly. I believe that it is still mounted properly in the compressor(?) area. After viewing the article here, I think that the swing motor is smacking around inside it's chamber.
Question: is this banging around inside the swing motor a bad thing?
Bugs the heck out of me to the point that I bought a second cooling unit off ebay and had planned to swap it out. Might be a little bigger job than I thought.
We'll see. Like to upgrade to a newer unit at some point but this one is here for now.
One more question: this is an older unit and I wonder if it isn't as efficient as newer units like you'd see with regular fridges(older versus newer models)?
thanks,

nice summary.
Would be nice to add a few lines about actual use, performance, reliability etc, too.

Nice job!

I liked the various examples provided for installation options.
