    M101CDN parking brake elimination...

Convince me to keep the brakes on my M101CDN........ So I've had my trailer for about a year - gave myself that much of a grace period to get used to the trailer and thoroughly think out any mods I might make. Like many others here I've decided to swap hubs to match the bolt pattern on...

    M101-CDN Wheels

So the 80 is getting new tires soon (315-75-R16 MTR's) and 2 of the old ones are still in good shape after 50K miles (~50% tread - even wear) and would make great trailer tires. AND I've been leaning toward doing the SOA to the M101. So the question is ....... What wheels have you all been...

    leaf over axle 101 question

:D d-d...... I'm leaning toward going this route with my M101. Did you have to use a spacer to be able to mount the 315's on stock 80 rims onto the M101?? Do you remember the parts source you used for the hub swap?? Trying to line up my spring projects :D Many thanks

Trailer hitch/loop thingy...what the hell is it?

It was a lunette - the trailer was an 8 foot single axle flat bed trailer (weight approx 800 - 1000 lbs) loaded with approx 2000 lbs of building material (plywood, 2x4s, 2x6s, concrete, etc). Combo hitch was an 8 ton unit. According to my uncle (as I recall) he was going about 45mph -...

Trailer hitch/loop thingy...what the hell is it?

Sorry to nit pick Snook. However, what you show is a combination ball - pintle hook. I'll never use one - an uncle of mine had one shear off the ball. The trailer disconnected and (according to him) it was a real rodeo ride to get it stopped. And yes, he was well within the weight rating...

    Pintle Hook Set-Up

That's the beauty of what Snook did. It's just a chunk of steel specially shaped to fill the lunette - pintle void. It's not permanently attached - so drop it in or leave it out based on your use.

    Pintle Hook Set-Up

Then there's this idea for on road trailer behavior improvement from another forum member. Seems easy enough to give a try.... https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=522837&postcount=18

    question about trailer building

How 'bout sharing the links ... I'm in the dreaming phase of trailer design / construction. I've had wild dreams of a crossbread of a late 40's tear drop and an M416. Some time back I found this stie along those lines...... (Concentrate on the trailer - Ignore the @eep content)...
