So I reversed the auto window up/down last week and put the fuse back in. Tested the battery every day but didn't crank it. Tested ok. Went out today and it cranked right up....so it was the window mod that was creating the issue in my case. Weird for such a small draw, but before it would...
Nice option. I can't tell from my phone, but would that still allow you to tow something when using that? Not sure if it would even be safe trying that.
Edit: Oh, actually you cantos with these on. I am going to look into this.....been waiting on the other options for a bit.
Anyone using...
Thanks....so if I am testing the draw and remove each connection to the battery one at a time (one is a Blue Sea fuse box, one an amp wire, etc) and the draw doesn't change then it should mean the parasitic draw is NOT coming from that part of the equation, correct?
Thanks @Cruiserdrew and @george_tlc
First thing I am going to do is pull the jumper for the window up/down when the car is off. I have a feeling that is a part of it. I don't recall having these issues before doing that, but didn't think the draw would be that large.
I pulled all of the...
The parasitic draw was tested using the 10amp setting (-.36)...it is one of the first pics but you can't see it. The other pic showing the 20 setting (-.03) was when I touched the alternator casing. I touched the negative terminal of the battery with black probe and alt casing with red probe...
Way after, but I checked for a parasitic draw after disconnecting the entire fuse box and the draw didn't change.
It actually started happening after I did the window up/down mod that allows you to use the windows when the car is off.....but I checked that parasitic draw by unplugging the...
So I have been having issues with my 80 dying after a few days. I changed the battery with a newer one and having the same issues.
I checked for parasitic draw and seems there is a constant -.35...which seems pretty low. I pulled each accessory I have on the battery and the draw did not...
I used it in a 4Runner that I had. Made it much quieter and I never noticed any issue with smell. I have read the horror stories of using it....but I never had any problems with it....that was in Alabama summer heat, too. I will probably use it again in my 80 when I get to that point.
Hmm....they swapped right in and plug worked correctly.
Brake lights work.
I will see if I can adjust it...maybe that is why it worked after it was wiggled?
I haven't gotten any blink codes. Nothing on my Ultragauge either.
Before anyone flames me for using cruise on my 80....I don't NEED to use it...just bothers me that it doesn't work.
On my '97 it just won't work. When I click cruise the light will stay on for about 3 seconds and cut off. The first fix (about 6 months ago) was to wiggle the throttle cable and...
Not sure if they are the Hellas....it is possible....they are pretty big and super loud. I pulled them off another vehicle. They were easy to install....just took the factory plug and attached to these and them grounded each horn together and then to one of the mounting bolts. 1 banana.
Added a 2nd 80 ('94) and 3rd overall. I doubt I hang onto this one...not sure what the plans are. Started cleaning it out....pressure sprayed the rat carpets. Definitely needs some attention to the normal stuff....window regs are super slow, needs speakers, radio, etc. Has some rust, but...
