Win Some, Lose Some @ Texas DOT

Montana sounds like one of the few remaining good places left. Texas seems to be under attack from California transplants due to Tesla, Oracle, HP, Joe Rogan, and who knows how many others fleeing their California to start their lives in the Lone Star nation.

Here‘s some of the main rules on collector plates in Wisconsin for you: Not sure how they came up with these, but they cause me no real difficulty and prevent having to manage annual re-registrations for my little collection of cars and motorcycles once the blue plates are installed. The...

Win Some, Lose Some @ Texas DOT

If you really want to be mad, when this rig makes it to my place in Wisconsin, it will never again be inspected and it will be titled as a collector car (greater than 20 years old). That gets a permanent blue collector license plate for the price of 2 years registration. So for a total of $150...

Actually, $92.19 sales tax on a used vehicle is a steal. Texas determines the value of used vehicles using their own published table formula so that’s pretty lucky that they determined the value of my ‘96 LX450 at a total of $1475 In today’s market. Let’s just say I place a slightly higher...

I prefer paper manual to PDF.

I am very much an in-person, hands on type of dude. I am sickened to be reduced to pretending to live my life using a camera and microphone to interact with snowflakes afraid to go outside and get dirty. I would much rather be at work in 110 degree weather complaining about the usual stuff...

I prefer paper manual to PDF.

These things are higher than giraffe pu**y on eBay…..like $150 to $250. I found this one via a second hand bookseller on eBay for $29. Thought it was a mistake.

hey Baldilocks, that rug really ties the whole room together. And thanks for the headsup on the AFM/MAF. I’ll try to keep my dickskinners outta there.

    2 ounces of prevention

Well, got factory service manual today and added dashcam yesterday so already with the Cruiser incidental purchases and hopeful to not need either one any time soon. Got a cheap but well reviewed Korean 4K dash cam from Amazon and it came with optional 1080p rear cam as well. Added 256Gb...

Picked up a second hand copy of the service manual and it came in the mail today. Thanks eBay. That MF’er got some beef to it.

Who watched that BaT auction this afternoon?

BaT and Barrett and Mecum frequently turn into a publicly televised 🍆 measuring contest….nothing more. You really need to know your max bid going in and be confident enough in your manhood to stop bidding when you reach your max bid. It is absurd what people are paying for cars at some of...

Who watched that BaT auction this afternoon?

Anybody else watch those two dudes bidding up to $185k (that's $185,000 dollars) on a 1995 Land Cruiser? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1995-toyota-land-cruiser-31/ And it ends up Reserve not Met at $185k. Absolutely amazing vehicle, but that's just an amount I can't really wrap my head...

Well, I made it to one of the neighborhood TXDOT approved inspection stations (a gas station) which took my $15 to "inspect" the '96 Cruiser I just bought before registering it. The dude is shakin' his head looking at his computer and then he hands me a form and says "must be exempt" I guess...

What’s the technical term for that thing kicks ass?

Wow, a man’s got to pay attention around these parts if he’s sportin’ a man bun, drivin’ a dang Lexus, and owns a Weber gas grill. I should be right at home but my pony tail was hangin’ out my hard hat so the safety msn made me cut it off.

Now Shreg, that’s just a lil front porch grill for heating’ up leftovers. Our pit don’t fit on the front porch.

What’s the technical term for that thing kicks ass?

Hey now Heckraiser, that pic could surely be someone’s Alabama kinfolk, but we in Texas. The West Alabama Icehouse is in Houston, TX, and last time I checked that ain’t what qualifies as “fine” in the Republic.

What’s the technical term for that thing kicks ass?

Woke up this mornin’ and this thing was still parked in front of my house so I guess that’s good. Also, Icehouse girl nowhere to be found this mornin’ so that’s also good. Will have to dig around this thing a little today and see what else I find. There’s a stone chip over the registration...

What’s the technical term for that thing kicks ass?

Well yesterday I bought a ‘96 LX 450 on BaT on a Sunday with 292k miles on it. I didn’t even know they had Sunday auctions. Today I went to pick it up and it absolutely kicks ass. I was blown away. I’ve never gone for a ride in one, driven one, or even got a good up close look at one, but...

Well, not an LC, but I’m in

Hey ajordan1975, thanks for the local service tip for Javier’s. I prefer working with an independent specialist over a dealer anytime I can’t do the work myself. I don’t have a lift or my big toolbox here in Houston so a great local specialist would be a big help if needed until I get it sorted.
