    LS400 ---> LX450 Sunvisor mod ! FZJ80 MUST HAVE !

Also Is there a switch in the visor that is causing this or something else? So all of them need to be unclipped and slid in before the light will work?

    Master Cylinder Cap Replacement Part

I have a dimly lit brake warning light on the dash. I traced it down to the master cylinder cap as the culprit. Is there a way to clean/rebuild that switch? I am seeing it appears to be Toyota part number 8446060020 , however, that is discontinued. Is there another source for them? I see all...

Is ebay the best place to buy these? Are there any new ones available these days?

Can you still purchase an OEM charcoal canister (Denso Vapor Canister)?

Is there any reason to choose the 105 series canister over the Ac Delco to Autozone? I'm surprised there is no drop in aftermarket or other replacement since it's an emissions control item.

    Definitive led thread for 80s

Ya I’ve got red for the map and warm for the dome right now and like it. Just figured I’d update to some better quality stuff that doesn’t flicker. With the led stuff being so hit or miss on quality I’m hoping someone has a good current source for some stuff vs having to order a few sets.

    Definitive led thread for 80s

Anyone have recommendations to panel lights for the dome lights and map light? I wasn't seeing the dimensions people are using and there are a lot on amazon. I'm looking for red for the map light and warm white for the map light and as bright as possible. Also something that wont flicker. My...

Land Cruiser 80 Series 3D Scans

Also the underside rear where the spare mounts from the factory (with the spare removed). Lots of space to design tanks or other things into that area. It would be great to try to get as much detail of the frame and members in that area to design brackets and such that bolt into them.

Land Cruiser 80 Series 3D Scans

The floor pan area area in front of the drivers seat with the front seat bolts would be awesome. Also the floor pan/footwell area by the low range shift column/center console would be cool. I’d like to design up a flashlight mount similar to the wits end fire extinguisher mounts.

Throttle Body / Intake Vacuum Ports for EGR

I got the egr working after replacing the VSV and re-doing the lines under the intake. When I was testing it out after re-installing everything I still couldn’t get the vacuum readings the FSM says at 2500rpm unless I pinched the line to the vsv. Since one of the steps in the fsm is to connect...

    EGR Pipe Insulation

Thanks for the feedback, I ended up putting some header wrap on the egr pipe and securing it with SS zip ties. I put some fire sleeve on the harness and tied it away from the tube with another SS zip tie so as to not rely on a plastic clip to hold it away.

    EGR Pipe Insulation

Has anyone tried to put insulation around the EGR pipe? I have the plenum off to fix the VSV and am working on making sure the harness is tied out of the way of the EGR pipe to avoid that issue. Looking at the compression fitting on the side of the tube that goes to the EGR valve it looks like I...

Throttle Body / Intake Vacuum Ports for EGR

Good call on this. They showed no vacuum at idle, but as soon as I hit the throttle they showed some and were slightly different (like you said). I was able to confirm vacuum at all ports. Not sure how I didn't get any readings last night. I re-ran the test this AM and was able to get the...

Toyota Parts Website is Now Terrible to Search?

Ah, nice. I've used them a bunch in the past for orders, but never realized I could look stuff up from there directly.

Throttle Body / Intake Vacuum Ports for EGR

Hey All, I'm tracking down a P401 insufficient EGR issue. I've followed the FSM to check for vacuum at the EGR valve during cold/warmed up at 2500 rpm as well as moving the vacuum line from the modulator to the vacuum circuit. I did not see vacuum at the EGR valve in any of those conditions. The...

80 series steering box mount & front panhard frame support bracket kits.

M My install went well. Ended up getting a right angle die-grinder to do the stripping on the engine side and found a crack there in addition to the ones on the pan hard mount. I ended up designing my own plates up as I wanted something that was a bit different than the gen 1 Delta VS design...

Toyota Parts Website is Now Terrible to Search?

I just tried jumping on https://parts.toyota.com/ to grab some parts numbers and it seems they did an interface refresh and made the site terrible to search. Is that true or am I missing something? I was trying to pull up the part diagrams and can't seem to find them. It doesn't seem like there...

    CA Smog with a 1995

My 1995 is OBDII. I see most of the shops here (in California) quote ~$100 for a 1995 and older and ~$50 for a 1996-1999. I'm assuming the 1995 and older number is for a non OBDII vehicle? So should my 1995 really be done to the 1996 price? I don't believe the 1995 OBDII trucks have any...

Oil Seal Leak / Knuckle Centering

Ah, having a machine shop inspect it isn’t a bad idea, but I agree by the time it’s torn down to inspect its basically ready to be re-built in another housing so maybe not worth it. I need to run a trip for Memorial Day so planning to throw it back together and see if it leaks again. The funny...

Oil Seal Leak / Knuckle Centering

Sure, here is a pic. Basically the same as the 60/70 series factory Toyota tool, just sized to fit the 80 dims. So the procedure is similar to the below service manual procedure which isn’t in the 80 fsm since an 80 should only need preload shimming not centering.

Oil Seal Leak / Knuckle Centering

Ya I suspect something is tweaked…probably upstream of the seal given its always pulled right since I nailed a rut off road a few years back. What kind of shop can check an 80 housing? I kinda assumed that would require a fixture specific to the 80 that most places wouldn’t have.
