We let individuals new (and experienced) to the Cruiser world work and learn on their rigs in our shop. We usually work out something for the use of tools, space etc. I'm only about 15 minutes from the shop, so as long as I have nothing going on I have been known to get limpers in at anytime...
Always go OEM if you can. We have had many come into the shop after a DIY using aftermarket - as fast as a week, and they sure didn't want to dig in again that quick.
Sounds about right. I have seen them go a long time with that diagnosis. If you like the truck, I would drive it until it stopped and save money for a diesel swap. But, you probably are close to 1000-1200 just selling the ARB equipment yourself if it is pretty new.
I think at best if you were to list it yourself you might be lucky to get 3k as a whole. Might being the key word. So at 3k yourself, if you could get that much, I would think someone who wants it to part out as their business would be hard pressed to go north of $1400.
And, I am sure...
Any chance it could be a loose exhaust pipe? I had random vibrations going downhill when one of the welds popped. Though that doesn't explain the fluid smell

Should be throwing a code 22 if stored in CEL. My light did not stay on - but I would get the occasional high idle (2k+). And the hesitation, but only on left turns...
