    I think I was previously thrown by “new short block”. As a layman not a mechanic, I’ve always heard the term ‘new short block’ as ‘new engine’ 😎

    agree to the comprehension part as i’m still looking for some sort of estimate to pull and repair MY engine, not purchasing another one. i guess it’s the price range may be too large to be of help 😎

    Yea, you’re right. I think he was referring to something else. But still wondering the price range to have my engine pulled, repaired & reinstalled. Or maybe the price range is too large to be helpful.

    Thanks bud! You were supposed to tell me that slinging a rod is an easy $500 fix ha. So you estimate about $2k to have my engine rebuilt? Again, I know its history so I’d like to keep it.

    What part of ‘slung a rod’ did you not get? 😆 You’d be the first person to say this is a minor fix, but it would be great if that’s the case!

    1. 1996 model LX450 ‘slung a rod’ several years ago at 275k miles. I bought at 70k from a rich dude, it literally looked brand new. The next 200k miles, all oil changes etc and only 93 octane. This vehicle has literally never been off road (sorry to disappoint everyone, just not my thing...

    well, since they didn't have bluetooth stereos in 1996… instead of trying to match the double din space of the factory stereo, i'm installing the same single din sony i just put in the '95 mercedes (bluetooth, built-in amp, etc). looking for worthwhile options to fill the space of the lower...

    wow...identical problem as you except with both seats! no problem on the driver's side...i'm the only driver and it's stuck as far back as the seat goes. problem is that the passenger side is stuck as far forward as it can go. nobody can ride in that seat. until i get the motor problem...
