hey thanks for the shots and the info! Those screens are super cool. You said they make them for the second row windows too? Or did you make them yourself? Anyway, hopefully I'll find a truck here soon I've actually spotted a nice LX in GA that is much closer than the one in NM... problem is...
For this problem I was hoping to retro the CRLawrence power slider to work with these. Only problem with that is problem 1 which you say is the amount of force needed to open/close them. If I can get them to slide easier, then I'm sure I can make them powered.
well that's good news I can probably handle and fix a small leak like that with a little thinking. Now I just need to know whether these windows are easy to change out or not...
Ok I tried searching, I tried the FAQ. They all mention it, but none explain it. WTF is base-lining? I understand it to be some sort of maintenance procedure you go through right when you first get your used 80. I'd love some more details. :bang: thanks!
That's what I like to hear! Do you open them often (like, everytime you go anywhere) Or have they been in the same position for 240K Miles? No worries either way, just trying to get an idea.
I'm in Naples, FL I donno why my little thing doesn't say it... i'll go work it out now while i wait for beowulf to confirm the ability to swap them without tooooo much difficulty.
I would probably do that but I donno if I would let go of them. I guess it would depend on how much they were willing to give me for them. Because one day when the sliding ones do start leaking, and my eventual wife (yes I intend to keep it for that long) is bitching about the leaky windows and...
I think we see things very differently haha I will be moving from a 4runner with the rear gate power window, and I NEVER use my AC. The more windows that can open, the better :D To each their own though.
Anyway, whether he did put these in or if it came like that, I sure as hell hope I can...
It's a 97 and I don't think I have until this one either. I'm pretty sure it's US-spec, he didn't mention otherwise. Actually, in the post, he just says "non-sliding rear window" like its a normal feature, i'm so confused... here's the link...
I am considering buying a particular 80-series and everything is looking good, just working on a price. There's just one "problem" that's kind of eating at me...
It doesn't have sliding windows at the back. I really think I would miss that if I bought this truck. Now, there are plenty of 80's...
Thanks for the advice guys. In response to having read all of the stickys and faqs and stuff I've decided that an 80 is actually going to be a better truck for what I'm looking to do. I also worked out that it's not just the price that makes the truck cheap or expensive. But again, since I...
