I've seen the same issue just rather it was extremely slow to go backup especially in cold weather. Probably more of a track issue then contactor for me but good to know you can get these back to like new condition. Nice job!
Does anyone know if the ab60f will bolt up to the 1hdfte? I know the a750f does and likely the a760f, 6 speed brother, but ive not seen the a760f advertised as being able to lock up the torque converter in 5th and 6th. I'm curious but it's obviously difficult get any idea just from pictures of...
Ergo the enthalpy of water vs air. Really interesting on that heat exchanger, I had honestly never heard of an air to water intercooler in automotive applications until now.
Hey all, sorry if I'm asking a question that's been answered. I ran the "search field query", ih8mud on the Google machine and nothing came back. Just curious if anyone had tried the link turbo on their 80. Nothing special so i know gains are limited but curious what $2k USD might get me...
Did anyone ever resolve if this is just the a/c compressor relocated to the upper position? If so, is a bracket required or does it bolt directly to the existing holes in the head?
Went all in on changing hoses, heater, valve cooling system flush etc. Saw this open ended connection today doing th4 stuff along the firewall. Looked at the coolant flow diagram from joey@witsend and couldn't see if it's supposed to connect or if it's an over pressurization valve of some kind...
Think you nailed it. I did the second water only flush portion a bit ago and it looked very much like the engine oil coming off the exhaust manifold. Damn oil leaks! I need to pull the engine but......pffffff. effort lol.
Anyone know if this is a cooling system related issue? I have a good bit of oil that has made its way across the engine block from leaks on the front I suspect, which I have the parts to fix and will as well, but started a coolant flush and turned the heater on to proceed. Noticed a good bit of...
Right on. Oh dang. Ya 337k would probably necessitate some heavy maintenance to get it back to the good place. I hear ya on learning a lot. I'm going to attempt a diesel conversion at some point and I know that will be ripe with learning points.
