Choosing paint color….would love to see some dark grey, gunmetal or charcoal rigs!

I just read through this thread and was wondering why you wouldn’t just do the factory dark green again the whole time. I like that color! I did a kitchen for a friend years back that he insisted he wanted a 63 Impala color. We painted it the correct color and he argued we got it wrong...

    Nice cupholder for the 80

It’s almost too ghetto to publish;). But it doeskeep coffee out of my lap. I’ll take a pic of it and the factory console later today. Are you 3D printing these?

    Nice cupholder for the 80

If you are interested, there is a need for console/cup holders in the 95 and earlier trucks and 4Runners as well. There might be a market for you to do something there as well. I made a console with cup holders out of plywood and covered it with matching carpet, but it is on the ghetto side...

    Nice cupholder for the 80

I felt bad for hijacking the thread a bit, but saw you are in Texas, and I hear it gets hot there so you are in the extra bad zone for plastic bottles. Stainless steel is the way to go.

    Nice cupholder for the 80

They did switch, but apparently the new bottle material is no better. Just different. It still leaches compounds that attach to and alter your DNA.

    Nice cupholder for the 80

Nice product Outsane! I have used a Landrover Disco cup holder in my 80. It works ok too, but where would you ever find a dead Discovery to get parts from??? Arcteryx- you might want to re-think the Nalgene thing. Even their new Tritan based bottles are said to leach DNA effecting toxins...

    Builds Introducing FZJ 80 "Dingo"

Bedliners is for truck beds. There. I’ve said it! The paint I used was supposed to be glossy, but due to dry time, thickness of coat etc it did come out a bit more matte. I was ahead of my time with that. If you’ve sprayed furniture, you’d be fine spray automotive paint too. Just do some...

    Builds Introducing FZJ 80 "Dingo"

It is a machinery paint. I bought it from a local (PNW) paint supplier called Cloverdale. Any good paint company should have a version of it. The one I used is a quick drying variety that is perfect for someone without a booth as you limit the time that dust etc can stick. The only real...

Confused which lift to go with.

OME is great for me! I have meds front and back, but a light weight front bumper with no winch. Js in the front and heavies in the rear are probably what you want. Call ARB and talk to Mark in their tech dept. He is great to deal with and super knowledgeable. I have just been dealing with...

Looking to mount a CB behind my center console(cooler), question on mounting...

You must get annoyed a lot! I recall you used it a fair bit when I went out to Sooke with you and Cam:hillbilly: I mounted my Uniden where BrotherRob did. I like the look of it in-dash better, though my 96 doesn't have the same dash as your diesel...

    RTH Airbox interchangability???

My '96 came with a K&N cone type filter. I found a complete airbox from a '94, but have heard that the lids are different and allow different air flow. Anyone know if these are interchangeable or do I need to find a box from a 96 or 97? I have to decide tomorrow as the parts are a long way...

    Locked or unlocked FZJ

I would buy the best 80 I could find, locked or not. If you only plan to wheel it once in a while, do the Aussie locker. If you are going to be more hardcore, then ARBs are the goods. If your best example of 80 happens to be locked already, then you are ahead of the game. ARBs are a better...

"Newbie" Best year for the 80 series

If you are not generally in a rush or tow frequently I would look at the 91-92. To my way of thinking, a rear axle swap for discs is fairly simple. The 3FE is a much simpler engine to work on. The simpicity of the 91-92s carries most of the way through. LTs pro/con list sums it up well. If...
