Thanks for all the input guys! I'll be adding some bushings. I've got some plates from another build that ended in a 3-link. I think that would be overkill. Going to try the bushings first then go from there.
Ah! Makes sense... I just hadn't read much about others having to correct their caster after only 1" spacers. To answer the other questions I'm 99% positive the coil springs are stock. Everything else on the rig was stock and rusty.
Can spacers really cause this much of a difference? A little background... I have a 95 FZJ80 that was stock. I just put 30mm MAF coil spacers on it along with new TREs and 285/70R17 tires. All went well and I took it for an alignment. Everything was within spec after the alignment except the...
I have no clue when it is suppose to start coming on. However, when I check it as soon as it comes on there is a tiny amount still on the dipstick and 1 quart will put it back up to the full mark. I haven't really tested on a cold vs warm engine as I've seen others say it is different depending...
Howdy! Haven't posted in forever so I figured I would. So how much oil does your 80 burn between oil changes, if any? For me I have 216,000 miles on a cruiser I got about a year ago, I use 15w40 Shell Rotella and it consumes a quart a little over 3,000 miles. Usually my low oil light will come...
I 100% agree with you guys on Toyota wires. I was just curious if I could purchase this broken plastic clip on the end of the current NGK plug wire. It's the part that plugs into the dizzy.
Just picked up another 80 series recently. Driving it today and it started missing like crazy. Pop the hood to see a plug wire came off. The wires are newer NGK brand and in great looking condition. The plastic clip on the end of it is broken though and doesn't want to stay locked in. Anyone...
I've said I'm "done" more times then I can count. Started with 33s and a 2.5" OME lift.... several sets of tires and suspension changes has left me here. Not to mention all the other junk along the way.
I've changed the tie rod and the drag link both to a heavy duty setup. I folded the stock one like a taco when I was running XML's.
Wheeling like this is what prompted the 3 Link:
I still made it through this spot but I would have had more traction if I could have put the driver side tire...
So 4 years later I finally got around to putting an exo on the 80. This is after I have beat the doors up pretty good along with just about every other body panel.
Will a 3rd member from a 92 (semi-float) fit into the axle housing of a 93-97 full float? I broke an axle and was looking to maybe replace the housing and switch to longs with the new housing but already have an aussie and 5.29s in my 3rd member.
2.5" Lift is the way to go. That was the first lift I put on and loved the truck. It had good road manners and I could wheel most of the stuff I wanted to. As time went on and lift/tire size went up I found I just broke more stuff along the way... lol! Now I trailer the 80 everywhere.
