    1HD-T Camshaft installation

No. Tighten in very small increments until the cam is seated and the bolts are hand tight. Then torque to spec. Where do you get 6nm from?

What gives with the HDJ81 JDM scaremongering?

my HDJ80 is with out doubt the most reliable, cheapest and easy to fix vehicle i have ever owned. its been my only car and a daily driver for the last 18 years. its no show pony and has had plenty of abuse. towed far too much, idled for countless hours and done 80 plus mph for hours on end on...

i find the ones in your link to work and look very good. i wire them up to the factory rheostat so they are as bright or not bright as you want. i put a self tapping screw just below the lower gauge, it isnt seen unless you look for it. be aware of the sunroof drain tube..

80 In The Snow - open vs viscous coupling center

IME of winter driving my 80; i use dedicated winter tyres, yokohama geolander I/T GO71. centre diff locked, high range. ABS disengaged. i found it to be lethal in snow/hardpack. forget front and rear lockers, unless your trying to get unstuck, its like trying to steer a elephant in a...

a manual will almost never leave you stranded due to a failure. pretty easy to rebuild. ive bump started my 80 in reverse on a slight incline within 6 foot due to a flat battery. you drive the vehicle, the vehicle doesnt drive you. :) i have nothing against autos, if i lived in a city i would...

a lot of acoustic insulation on the FTE too. injector pump and valve cover being most notable. the latter years of the FT gained a fair amount, a lot of it gets discarded over the years.
