Does anyone know a supplier for the 80-series JDM winch covers like the one on the first page of this thread? My searches have not been fruitful...
Thanks in advance

I don't know how wild your wheeling is so it is hard to say what you'll need, but I run 35's with plenty of room to spare on to 3/2 OME level lift stance kit from Man A Fre... 4" seems like a ton of lift for the need you mention.
I went with the OME "level stance" lift kit from Man-A-Fre and really love it. It's J's up front and then standard 2.5" in the rear - I'm running 315's and there is acres of room to spare in terms of clearance for my needs in the wheel wells. I'll be running an custom steel bumper w/ winch up...
I'm looking for the owner of a built 80 series that I met in the lobby at Slee about three weeks ago. You asked at the time if I was interested in buying the supercharger off of your rig and I said no but I may be now. Please PM me if you can. I can't remember your handle here on mud. Thanks...
What suspension did you end up settling with and why? I'm looking to run a similar setup to what you have so any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Killer. I think this is the way that I'll end up going. I want to run BFG 315 AT's (the smallest of the 315's from what Ive seen) and I tend to like the level stance look. Seems like it'd be easy enough to switch the rear out if needed ever to accommodate an aux tank, swing out bumper, etc.
Sorry, I meant I was looking for info n the springs in the 3"/2" kit. MAF isn't explicit on their website for that kit and just say "standard and competition coils used as noted" but I don't see where it is noted.
As importantly though is has anyone used this lift and what did they think of...
I've owned three 60's over the years and bought my first 80 this year. Night and day. I love my 60 for all the classic-ness and character the others mention. You roll up in a clean 60 and folks notice it. The 80 on the other hand is just as perfect a rig as I've ever owned. Makes me nuts...
Has anyone used MAF's 3" front/2" rear OME lift combo? It looks like a good way to go for me but I'd like to know what the springs are that the kit uses (medium or heavy) and how the ride is with it. I emailed them to ask but haven't heard back so I thought I'd ask here as well and maybe get...
One of my good friends is looking at buying an 80 in Dallas near Grand Prairie. Can anyone give me a lead or two on a good mechanic that could do a full inspection on this vehicle for him. He lives in OKC and has been on the hunt for months but doesn't want to buy blind.
Thanks in advance
Koby
1. You settled my tire question... I'd been debating 285 vs 305 and had settled on 305's when I started debating 305's vs 315's... 315's it is.
2. Dumb question, but that's par for me: who is the vendor you are referring to on your spacers when you say "MT"?
3. That sticker is perfect - where...
Huh?:confused::confused:
Um, That's not how it went for me when I ordered mine. Just ping Kevin at WagonGear and he'll get you on the list. Once my name came up he contacted me.
You can either pay then and he'll make your panels to order (you can choose the latches, surface material, etc) or...
Yeah - it would be sweet to have the rear cargo are of the 80 fully used - it sucks to know that those quarter panels are just sitting there with all that space that could be used...
Does anyone have pics of an 80 with the trim in the rear removed?? curious what it looks like underneath all...
Would it be possible to fab a brace or braces for the upper swing arm? It seems like you are trying to reinforce the sheet metal which could be done with another option beyond the OEM upper internal brace - or am I smoking crack?
I've got two installed - both on the passenger side of the center console - it is the only place that I could put them both in with enough clearance for use. Easy to access for both driver and passenger. I'll see if I can get some pics of them up. I put the OEM slot cup holder in first but it is...
I've got a full set of 3 (tailgate and side panels) in the cargo area of my 62 and they are hands down, without question the best mod I've ever done to the rig (and it is heavily modded...).
I use them every day and it keeps the inside of the rig crap free.
Get on the list - it is worth it...
