Can someone with a genuine 40th Anniv. 80 please post measurements of the emblem and decal individually and together (overall widthxheight on longest edges)?
cahill- thanks for the response and sorry I was not very clear in my post, but I’m asking about the pros and cons of swapping the factory locked axles vs. modifying my existing axles with the locking axle parts from the locking axles (retrofit).
Edited for clarity in response to cahill:
I have a 97 unlocked LX w/ 140k on it, owned since almost new, gear oil in diffs changed every 30k mi w/ M1, front axle service at 90k mi, etc. I’ve recently obtained a complete set of factory locking axles off a high mileage truck (230K+ mi)...
Resurrecting this thread because I'm attempting to do this mod and I'm finding that the last part, the "42DraftDesigns Universal Oil Temp Adaptor - Drain Plug = 42-908" is no longer available. Any suggestions on an alternative?
So this brings me back to this question: are the positive experiences with TYC posted on Mud mostly from people who ordered TYC 1918 radiators, but received Koyorad-labeled 1918 radiators instead? Because that seems to be the case with most of the earlier, positive reviews of the TYC 1918 on...
I’m just as concerned with the longevity of the radiator as the cooling capacity. Where are the reports of TYCs lasting the same 10+ years as the OEM? Perhaps the TYC part hasn’t been around that long. Well then at least 5yrs? Also interested to hear about your recommended “other places” to buy...
I’d like to resurrect this thread to ask about TYC vs. Koyorad on Amazon. The TYC 1918 seems to have quite a few bad reviews, with some reviewers indicating they hoped they’d receive the Koyorad version instead of the TYC version (implying some TYC shipments included the Koyorad labeled version...
No, I don't think it is used with diesels. So, just to clarify, you've gotten an an older (93-94) A442F to work with the revised ECU in a '95-97 80-series (both paired to diesel motors), whereas @Luispa89 wants to get an A343F to work in a truck that had the A442F (both paired to petrol motors).
If you scan through this old thread, you’ll see that @doughboy said he got an A343F installed and working in a truck that came stock with the A442F. I think it should be doable with minor modifications (ECU to solenoid connectors, tranny cooler lines). Though I’m sure shift points won't be...
@doughboy FYI I've been messaging @Luispa89 and he's wondering if you can help him with putting an A343F into an 80 that had an A442F. I pointed him to you because I remembered this thread, where you posted that you got this setup working.
