The Squirrel - 1991 FJ80 "Poverty Pack" Cruiser

I pre-wired my winch for my dual battery setup, installed my Yankum winch rope, and installed my front bumper. Plus, fresh inspection, title, plates, and TX registration. We’re legal now! I still need tires and a few other odds and ends. But at least legal to putz around.

Thanks! I love your Cruiser! Great setup with the H55. I probably can’t make it to the meet. I tested positive for Covid yesterday :frown:

    A/C Gurus - Fitting Question

These are all good sources for materials: https://coldhose.com https://www.oldairproducts.com Home - Vintage Air - https://www.vintageair.com Here is a decent how-to video: Keep in mind, I was converting from a Toyota A/C compressor to a domestic (o-ring style) compressor. So I just needed...

    A/C Gurus - Fitting Question

Yes. The line from the firewall to compressor is easy. Just use these LS swap fittings from EBay or Amazon. Amazon Link The line from the condenser to the compressor is more tricky. I cut off the metric fitting and TIG welded a conventional SAE o-ring fitting to the hardline. Once you...

Agreed. Compromises must be made if I want to keep the OEM winch.

The Squirrel - 1991 FJ80 "Poverty Pack" Cruiser

My truck came with a passenger’s side rear tire carrier from @SUMMIT CRUISERS Jr back when he was still making them. PO made a nice bracket for the license plate. Before But I found a JDM license plate holder and decided to install. I’ll probably delete the second “Toyota Land Cruiser”...

    3FE Owners Check-In

You are correct. You’d think I would know, some nerd put together a whole thread for paint codes.

I picked up an FZJ80 battery tray for the driver’s side fender. Does anyone know, do you have to remove the A/C drier and radiator to install?

    3FE Owners Check-In

Thanks for the paint code! I need to order some touch-up paint. A Wilwood Proportioning Valve allows manual adjustment of rear brake bias. It replaces the LSPV and deletes the extra line running back to the front.

    3FE Owners Check-In

I joined the 3FE gang back in February. Did a rear heater delete, EGR delete, LSPV delete and Wilwood Prop Valve, and OEM Winch. Dual batteries and new tires soon. Build thread in my signature if you want to follow along.

That’s badass! I have been eyeing a Dobinson’s setup and debating if the MRR shocks are worth it. Sounds like they are! Remind me your coil spring and tire specs?

You're not the only one who loathes body lifts. I think they got a bad reputation in the 80s and 90s from people doing terrible/cheap/huge body lifts and wrecking decent trucks. But done properly with a 1" or less, most people can't tell the difference. Either way, it looks like I'm in the...
