Not 100% sure if the other things are damaged and relatively deterministic time line to get back on the road. Plus don’t have all the possible parts, with the axle it’s pretty much bolt on and go. We finished the swap in just over 3 hours. Granted on the trail axle swap will be much harder.
wow, that was quit the production. Thanks to a good friend we were able to swap the front axle on the side of the road. I'm pooped but at least finally can relax at home.
Hey gang
it’s been a while since I visited the forum but it has been while since I used my 80. Last Thursday I took the old girl out to bishop for some camping and on the way there the front passenger caliper stuck and cooked the bearings. As the tow truck showed up and trying to position the...
Or you can find a piece of PVC pipe or even wooden stick to hammer it in. It just needs a flat surface. Proper tools obviously is the best but it’s no rocket science either.

My poor neglected 80 has been throwing 172 code and running rather terrible. $50 denso O2 sensor from amazon and 15 minutes later she is back to smooth running again!
also picked up a 66 inch tool chest from Costco in the 80, ran like a champ with the new O2.
I was really puzzled myself that the steering wheel went really off centered with that one good hit. I was under it multiple times with a straight edge trying to figured out what got bent but found everything in good order. One of the first thing I check was the knuckle studs because I had a...
