    Bolt on turbo kit

My 80 was totaled several months ago by an idiot in a Durango and my Witts End kit is up for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/nor-cal-complete-80-series-wits-end-turbo-kit.1232988/

    Bolt on turbo kit

Appreciate all that you are doing Joey. A few cruisers for sale in my area, several of these have been posted for a while with the prices steadily going down on them. Maybe one of them will work for you. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/san-bruno-1996-land-cruiser/6849653635.html...

    Bolt on turbo kit

Thanks for clarifying, just need to remember to treat the LC like my first gen Cummins Ram and let it idle for a minute or two if I've been playing around with it right before I get to wherever it is I'm going. Being a new turbo, I assume it has a provision for water cooling and possibly...

    Bolt on turbo kit

This is good to know as mine is a pretty much stock cooling system with an old aftermarket CSU brass radiator which I think is out of business now and I never see anything over 190 here in the Bay Area. But I have yet to really run it in the dead of summer with the AC going too. Speaking of...

    Bolt on turbo kit

Well I decided it would be dumb to not take advantage of this opportunity. Besides I've always thought the L/C would be great with a turbo and having it be legal for Cali is the best thing I can imagine....just placed my order for one. Hope my HG and trans will handle the upgrade and stay in one...

    Bolt on turbo kit

So hows demand for the turbo kit been so far? I'm still looking at the numbers and deciding if I can buy one or not. Do I need to rush or are there still plenty of kits available?

    Bolt on turbo kit

A couple of questions, if they've been answered already please point me to the page #. I assume the trucks will need to run premium gas with the turbo setup? Not a big deal, but figured it would be good to know. If we are unavailable Friday at 6PM, how long does the pre-order period go for...

    Oil Burn Between Oil Changes

I changed my oil for the first time since purchasing about 1,000 miles ago. With the exception of a puff of oil smoke from the valve stem seals when its cold, it hasn't moved off the full mark on the dipstick. 234K and I'm using 10W30 Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic.

    Clogged catalytic converter... options?

Just put the Magnaflow cats and new Denso 02 sensors on mine about a month ago. I was throwing a PO420 for cat efficiency and after replacing the O2's I would still occasionally get the code. I tested the cats and they were pretty much shot. What are you failing for on smog? HC or CO?

    Auto climate air amplifier question

I'm fairly certain you can't plug that box into a manual climate control system. I don't believe the electrical plugs for it are even there. The two systems are different for sure. It would be a challenge to know if you've fixed it or not, without some way to test it.

    Auto climate air amplifier question

Thanks for the reply, I am indeed going to try cleaning it first before I shell out a bunch of money for a used one. If I get nowhere with it and you'd like to take a look at it, I might be willing to send it over you as you're only in Utah. What is the best thing to use to clean it with? Just...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Certainly, its Minute Muffler in Dublin....guy named Scott runs it and is super cool. Check with him a few weeks before you want to get it done, everyone likes him and his schedule fills up fast. I've had him do lots of work on several different cars for me and will vouch for his workmanship.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

There's 2 sets of part numbers depending on whether you want to go direct fit style bolt on from the manifolds back or weld on style. Direct fit part numbers are: 447103/447217. Weld on part numbers that I went with are: 447106/447206. I'm thinking the weld on ones are a bit cheaper than the...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Yes I'm in the Danville/San Ramon area...where are you at? They do indeed pass CA smog, both have the CARB numbers stamped on them. My muffler guy has been in this business for 20+ years and he's a master at building custom exhausts for pretty much any vehicle. He definitely knows whats going on...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Had my muffler guy replace my worn out, stock cats with Magnaflow HFC's that compliment my Magnaflow exhaust system quite nicely. Stockers appeared to be partially clogged and the truck has a slightly deeper tone under acceleration now. Hopefully that doesn't translate to extra exhaust noise on...

Anyone running a mild aftermarket camshaft with a stock motor or TRD Supercharger

Yeah I heard there was a problem where the oil hole was drilled into the cam to operate the MIVEC. The cams would crack there and break in half. I saw a lot of failures on Kelford's and so with me owning an Evo IX I decided not to use them. I went with Works Motorsports 274 power cams which use...

Anyone running a mild aftermarket camshaft with a stock motor or TRD Supercharger

I was looking at pistons the other day and found that JE makes an 8.5, 10.0 and 11.5:1 piston for 1FZ's It would be tempting to do a 10:1 piston as long as I could still get it by smog. I imagine 10:1, aftermarket cams, port and polished head and maybe port matching the intake and exhaust...

Anyone running a mild aftermarket camshaft with a stock motor or TRD Supercharger

I also own an Evo and after hearing and seeing all the failures with Kelfords MIVEC camshafts for EVO IX's, I am a little reluctant to use their products. However when I do the HG and freshen my top end, I'm going to look at these cams. No reviews but a relatively good rating and a 1000-5500 RPM...
