I agree about all said with loose / poor maintained components.
However, a well maintained stock height 80 is IMHO very tight, and not at all sketchy at highways speeds. While mine is neither stock height or a DD anymore, it was once. I've had panic stop situations on the freeway were I was...
One thing: most of the replies, if not all have ignored is your height of 6’2”. You will find the driving room for the 80 cramped unless you get some state seat extension brackets to move the drivers seat back. Landtank made some, don’t know who selling them currently. However, if you’re used to...
This is all awesome info. I'm going with the Toyota OEM Valve grind kit that includes the HG and all the top end seals, and I have a grocery list of other seals and While I'm In There items, like the 100 series block drain plug, power steering hoses and seals, fuel filter, etc. I'm pulling the...
If you need new shocks, and are anticipating getting a lift.… You can get the nitro charger shocks or any shocks for a 2 inch lift now and run those with your stock suspension. Then add the springs later, problem solved. I did this when I was running a stock replacement before I lifted my truck.
One of the reasons for the ARP's is budget . The OEM bolts and washers cost roughly $340, whilst the ARP kit is roughly $100 less. Not huge , but not chump change either, for what is considered a superior component.
Why are you considering using stock height shocks with a lifted vehicle if you are already ok with they cost of new shocks?
Lifting puts additional roll into a vehicle; and among other things, stock shocks are not tuned to deal with this roll. Not apples to apples on an 80 series, but I had...
My 95 has a blown head gasket after flogging it to death pulling a box trailer for a month for work while searching for a new V8 Sequoia to replace the one my daughter totaled. I'm getting ready to replace the HG in the truck, and have a good spare engine (also with a minor HG leak) to mix/...
Might be time to:
A: trouble shoot via FSM - its either not getting fuel or spark - if not spark but is getting fuel, you're possibly dumping a ton of gas into your cylinders which could perhaps hydrolock?
B: Start a fresh thread as the issue to get a wider audience than just those from this...
The windshield gasket is only a few years old - still sheds black crap and polisher bonnet. Will try the 303 stuff, I think. I've had good luck with some of their other products!
So, I drive the best 80 series color released. White. Debate and be wrong all you want. I think its actually in the FAQs. But when I go to wax it, the black window gaskets of the windshield and rear hatch widow get black gunk all over the pad and it gets distributed all over the paint...
Resurrection of the Thread - thanks for posting picture. My gauge went dead today, found the gauge, wiggled the wires, it came back to life. Yea. I have oil pressure and my engine will probably not grenade tomorrow.
