I don't have any info on the Cruisin skidplate. I have confidence in Slee's products, in general, as he seems to put a lot of effort into R&D and testing.
I have the IPOR on my rig, and love it! I just completed the Dusy. While the trail was very rough, the skidplate protected all my vitals...
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll continue trying to see where the hang-up is. I was confused (and frustrated) because the symptoms are the same, but on each seat it's different pieces that aren't moving properly. I need to get a set of metric allen wrenches (I borrowed my sons, last time) to...
I’m perplexed… My front passenger seat stopped working when the little white cap fell out and my son kept trying to move the seat. It bound up, I noticed, and had him stop. After searching Mud, I tried to fix it, and even ordered a new gear ass’y (P/N 72206-30040). I put in the new part, and it...
Glad to hear it! Coincidences can suck, because you're naturally looking in the wrong direction. Ahh, the value of a skilled mechanic... I sure wish I was one! :D
When I read some of the replies to your question, I thought maybe there should be a "Kick a Guy When He's Down" thread. I'm sorry for the ill treatment you received. I agree whole-heartedly that Mud offers the best resource on the net for LC's, so I hope you'll stick around. I've gotten a lot of...
I'm installing a new radiator, and with all the fun I had removing the two hidden nuts, I think I'd rather try re-assembly with the headlight housing out of the way. I can't find any of the "hidden" screws holding it in, or removal instructions in the FSM. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Congratulations! Please keep us posted on your temps after. How high were you running before? I wonder if there will be any fuel consumption difference with more load? Hmmm...
Welcome :flipoff2:! You might want to scroll through the Clubhouse section for your region and see if there are any groups/clubs in your area. If so, re-post your question there and you might get a more local response.
Good luck, and enjoy your new rig!
Thanks, guys! These are all sweet looking rigs, and I'm sure they'll help me make up my mind how high to go.
Are you happy that you kept your flares? Have you had any wheeling occasions where you wished that you had de-flared?
Thanks for the feedback!
I think my original post was confusing. I don't want to use a white liner.
I think my next project will be lining (Rhino, Hercu, Al's, etc...) the lower part of my truck. The truck is white, and I'll use black liner. I may leave the flares on (but still deciding). I saw a white, flared, and...
Thanks, but I was unable to find 98snakeeater in the 80's forum. As I'm typing this, it occurred to me from his name that he might be on the 100's forum. I'll check there.
Thanks, Vasir!
I've been very happy with my IPOR style (purchased from Man-a-Fre). It is big & heavy, bur provides great protection. IMO, a little too much protection is better than not quite enough...
I think my next project will be lining (Rhino, Hercu, Al's, etc...) the lower part of my truck. The truck is white, and I'll use black liner. I will most likely leave the flares on (but still deciding). I saw a white, flared, and lined 80 in a parking lot & it looked pretty good. I'm really...
Interesting that this thread should pop up now... I will soon install J's & long-travel shocks. I'm running older 33's now, and I've been grappling with the decision to stay on 33's when I replace these, or go to 35's. With 35's, I'd need 5 (for the spare), so the cost would be substantially...
Bill Burke 4WD used to recommend and sell the RUD Grip 4x4 tire chains on his website. They're no longer there, so I'm not sure about availability. They were a heavy-duty diamond pattern that was very easy to install. Coincidentally, I was trying to find them late last night. I got as far as the...
