I installed a new head unit today, the Alpine CDE-126BT, along with Alpine's KTP-445 power pack, which is a small amp for the four speakers in the doors. My problem is that when I unhook the stock amp from behind the dash, I lose all power. Has anybody had this problem? I'm currently thinking...
This is true.
Here's a little info on it from Slee's site, I know that it can be confusing, and every once in a while I need to brush up on it.

Bump. We only need one more person to pay Steve to be able to get him to start making the next batch of boxes. Check the thread in the classifieds section, or PM me and let me know if you want in!
Hmm...I'll have to take a look. If you search, I think some other people might have pictures of theirs installed. You should post in the other thread, I've got a list going, and once everybody is fully committed, I'm going to place the order.
click the link I put in there and go to the fist post. He's got a link that's all about the making and developing of the box. There should be pictures somewhere in there of the finished box.
Just so you guys know, there is a thread in the merchandise storefront regarding Long Duck Dong's subwoofer box and sub that fit behind the rear right quarter panel, where the stock sub is located. He says that when he gets at least 5 interested, he'll begin making them.
Here's the link...
I just removed my roof rack and had a couple of comments to make. I'm also just making another thread to make it easier to search, I wasn't able to find many that I had found before (user malfunction, I'm sure) but here are some things I thought those searching should know:
1. If you are...
I know the new Scions have them both DS and PS. At least in the tC's, which I rode in. IIRC the switches were the same, so you should be able to just pull them out and then figure out how to wire them for a stock look
I've been thinking about doing something like that. what type of wood did you use? Is it sturdy enough to hold about 400 pounds without worrying about it collapsing and crushing whatever is underneath?
fair enough.
that reminds me, CDan did a mod that used the overhead assembly that had a compass and something else in it as well. There is also one with a subtank gauge and something else, I think.
Also, the center console fridge.
Maybe we should nix the idea of bolt on.
I know it's not/wasn't an option, but some people might want to do the mod and add an extra one back there anyway, and, eventually, it might not be available. I also know that the sub tank would need everything else, as well. We could put the sub tank in the list too.
Since myself and some others have recently realized that we may not always be able to have access to some of the random bits and pieces that Toyota put into Landcruisers that went to different countrys, why don't we start a list of the different "accessories" that we can just buy and, more or...
thanks a ton for the supplies. I didn't realize that Slee had all those tech articles on his site, now I have to read those and see what else I would like to do to my truck. I have a terminal pick, just didn't know how to use it. Thanks again!
I've poked and prodded the thing, and it just won't come out! I have (what I think) is a pokey-thingy (kind of looks like a small ice-pick) but am I supposed to shove the connector back out or release it some other way? Thanks for the help. Should I just try and use a paper clip or something...
