Fj40 won’t crank - help me get home

The issue back then was with corroded wiring near the fusible link. I replaced all that and it was fixed. The starter didn't give any signs of going out. Edit: never mind, yeah the hesitation could have been a sign.

Fj40 won’t crank - help me get home

Ok so the solenoid has two cables, the big positive straight to the battery and the small removable connector. I removed that connector and connected to battery positive. Got some sparks but nothing moved. That’s pretty conclusive it’s the solenoid right? Thanks for the suggestions everyone...

Yep I’ve jiggled all I can! Would it be easy to take apart the switch and hotwire it?

Fj40 won’t crank - help me get home

I’m stuck in a parking lot right now because my fj won’t crank. Accessories come on but there’s no noise or anything when trying to start. Any ideas? I have noticed in the past that there’s a slight delay between turning the key to to start and the starting cranking. Could this be the...

    Positive battery connection mess

What about the wiring coming off the battery? It's hanging on by only a few strands. I'm not even sure if there is a fusible link, it's all covered in electrical tape.

Replace exterior door handle without disassembling door?

Ok, I'm gonna try again with the whole door card off. Do you guys replace the plastic sheet between the door and the card or just forget it? Mine's all torn up.

Replace exterior door handle without disassembling door?

My passenger side exterior door handle broke and I'm trying to replace it. After removing the door card (I couldn't figure out how to take the whole thing off, so just pulled up the back part) I see the two bolts holding the handle on and one connecting it to the latch linkage, but I can't...

Electrical/starting problem on a cold day

Recently on a very cold day (15F) I decided to take the FJ out to run some errands. When I went to start it, absolutely nothing happened. No cranking, no noise and none of the electrical accessories came on. I sat for a minute with the key in the on position, and suddenly the accessories (fan...
