Here’s another switch that I don’t know the function of off the 40 harness I’m working on.

I'm surprised no one has provided this link to Coolerman's site: http://www.globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/fj40/schematics.htm

    Sending unit/Autometer gauge help

Your sending unit has to be matched to the gauge. Unless the gauge is adjustable. Look up the specs on your auto meter gauge and then compare to your sender.

Quarter panel real sill short term bandaid

Don't cover it up. You're just giving the rust another place to start spreading. In addition, your best laid plans to address it in 3-5 years are likely to become 5-7 or even 7-10, or you will sell the 'project' due to life changes. There are countless examples on the forum. Follow the tips in...

Weber 38 DGAS kit Man A Fre

My experience with a Weber was taking it off and replacing with OEM. Always ran rich, was picky about fuel pressure and could never get rid of a stumble. Sorry, but my advice would be cancel the order and look into a good rebuild on a stock carb.

1971 FJ40 disc brake conversion question

It doesn't exist to your specifications. The all inclusive kit that is out there is not the best. Yes, buying the mini truck or FJ60 parts necessary to do the conversion is not as convenient. But it is absolutely the BEST option. Call Georg @orangefj45 at Valley Hybrids or post a wanted ad in...

Call Cruiser Outfitters. @cruiseroutfit Know your bushing size so you can talk to them to make sure they are the same as stock. They will know what measurements you need. They have all the stock size shackles. http://cruiseroutfitters.com/suspension.html

Overall view from front and side, each end of the spring from about 2 feet away, the spring perch showing the caster shims from about 2 feet away. Others may have suggestions also. What electric PS kit did you use?

    FJ40 what did I break??

So the engine seizing is no longer a concern? If you damaged any bearings, getting it to run will ensure they are toast and could take the crank with them.

    FJ40 what did I break??

You need to pull bearing caps to inspect bearings. There is at least one that is likely fried, but all may be damaged. If you can find the oiling path diagram, I would start with the first rod or main bearing that gets oil from the pump and work out from there. IF you are very lucky, you MIGHT...
