Has two different front signals on fenders.
Aside from some floor board rust it doesn't look bad in pictures. I'm going to try to go get an idea of frame rust soon before committing to a purchase.
Hey guys. I haven't been around in a while. I have a lead on a 1974 40 that needs a lot of work. I have a friend that is going to do the metal work for next to nothing.
The truck isn't going to be a resto but I would like to know what type of front fender lights it should have and other...
I'm going to use all new switches. Just want to get it back on the road. I think finding one completed would be hard to do.
I'll take a look at coolermans site.
ETA: it's a 1963/68 truck.
I am wanting to get my old 40 back on the road. The reason I took it off was electrical. The blinker switch inside the unknown year GM column broke AND the brake lights developed a short. It's old, when it rains it pours.
This is what I want to do. Build a completely new wiring system not...
Vader your truck is a 65. You've solved the hot in the summer problem right there. Very few '65 vintage vehicles have AC. You have a removable top, better than most.
You steering is going to have play too. Not so much as to be unsafe, if it does fix it. This isn't a modern car that handles...
I guess I need to change it I guess, I'm in Cuba....Cuba, MO an hour west of STL on I44.
There was a rear heater the PO removed it for some reason. It's definitely a North American truck. Sorry to confuse everyone.
The tailgate is off, and it is rusted badly. As in I won't be reusing it...
I need to know a couple things.
My truck is a hodge podge of multiple year 40s. The body is either a 63 or a 68 is there a difference in the Hard tops that fit these years of trucks?
What other years will fit with minimal work?
Here's an idea. Go by Big O tire or a comparable tire shop. I bought 4 285/75/16 mounted and balanced for 774.91 they were big o tire brand but seem to be good tires, they had them on buy three Get one free deal.
Jdog, these trucks were meant to be simple and reliable.
Don't lose faith and just figure it out eliminating one possibility at a time. If all else fails get a part of known quantity that you know is good to eliminate that from the equation. I didn't read your thread because I wouldn't be much...
With photobucket there is a box with 4 different kinds of links. Copy the "img" link and post it directly here. It'll work until you move that picture to a different photo folder.
It's easier than resizing and manage attachments internally here.
