It was 2-3 years ago. I got them from Rusty Wallace Toyota. I ordered lots of parts from them. Their prices were at least 30 percent cheaper even after shipping than the local stealership!
I believe the American dealerships are not allowed to ship to Canada anymore, thanks Mr. Toyota :-(
They...
I used the early ones on my late 74, p/n 68108-60020. I bought them in the USA $37.00.
You have to trim the seal around the latch and the seal is too long but put the joint on the bottom, you cannot see it.
It fits the contour and the corners very well, as with all new seals you have to slam a...
If the gasser one will line up with the fan then all you need to do is go to any competent sheet metal shop. They would have a roller and get them to roll some metal the appropriate length and then weld it to the shroud. This is what I did when I did my conversion of fj62 to bj62 using the 3b...
Not really, just get your facts straight.
You said an old aircraft mechanic you know uses this trick and no airplane he has ever worked on has fallen out of the sky. This insinuates that aircraft engines are liquid cooled, and they are not.
Cheers
Probably experimental engines, like rotax. There are virtually no liquid cooled certified aircraft engines out there, there are a few but not common, and if there were then there would be specific cleaning procedures from the manufacturer, and coke would not be part of the recipe!
Ocdbeetle, he has been banned from the site, do a search and grab a beer or 2 for the read.
He is a nice guy, I meet him when I picked up the top. Things just went bad I guess?
Daryl
If you just installed the top give it a few weeks as it will shrink and tighten up.
My OCD top did exactly that.
The front bow, mine was a paki bow set, bottomed out on the stop and then the set bolt locked it in place. It is the same height as the rear bow.
Daryl
Yes they are LX front seats. No I do not have the rear, the rear seat is out of a BJ70. Yes I will recover both front and rear seats with the grey OEM style covers.
The wheels are chrome 60 series. I was going to powder coat them the grey or a gun metal tone.
Daryl
Yes I am thinking of selling my 1974 fjbj40. Fully resto modded, power steering, front disk, rear axle park brake, 3B H55f, 12 volt system, NO hard top but a FST with Paki bows and OCDbettle top.
nothing has been untouched, still a few things to do but pretty simple. Wheels painting and seat...
Had to pull of both rear drums today. I noticed a burning smell after my last ride. When I touched the rear wheels both were hot. I could not roll the truck by hand with the tires.
I had to use the threaded holes and a pry bar to remove them, not to difficult but harder than it should have...
Check my thread and you will see how I did it.

It is the same reason you wanted to do it, I put a h55 in my 40 and put the park brake equipped axle in also. It works just fine.
Daryl
Get it reamed, .5mm is not going to be a problem. Any machine shop should be able to do it.
A 3 lb hammer and large enough brass drift will do the job for install. Heat the spindle in the oven to 200 and put the bushing in the deep freeze for a few hours. It will slide in easy enough. If you...
And I have had USPS come from Cali in 4 days and shipped stuff to Cali in the same amount of time also using the 5-9 business option. It really is a hit and miss....
Daryl
They won't tell you about the brokerage fee as you are the shipper. The receiver takes it up the arse when it arrives, pun intended!
I looked at some hinges for my bimini top on my Whaler the other day on an American site. They were $1.79, I wanted 2. Total after shipping, duty and brokerage...
